Hi!
After lurking for a good while, I thought I might as well finally make an account here.
I’ve spent a lifetime with vk to varying degrees of passion. Sometimes very intensely listening on daily basis, sometimes it’s just been a thing in the background with occasional crying-myself-to-sleep-to-cassis moments. But in the end visual kei has been the only constant in my life since forever, so it’s something pretty important to me.
I tend to like most vk eras. From old school stuff to modern bands, maybe only the nightmare-girugamesh era is a moment in time I don’t really care for. I was somewhat inactive member at Monochrome Heaven before this, so it’s nice to see a board still dedicated to this stuff.
At this point I’ll probably follow Dir en grey and Gazette to my grave.
From more modern acts I really like The Madna, but I haven’t been keeping up with their newer releases, I think there might have been a slight drop in quality(?) Lynoas is also something that really grabbed me few years ago. Although I think it might be my inner Avel✡cain fan just looking for anything that sounds even vaguely like Karma, and Lynoas vocals have similar-ish tone to them despite the music being a bit different.
Stuff like Kakumay, Fukuro, Xanvala are always solid too.
I’m probably forgetting some, but just from the top of my head.
Nice, I am a long time Gazette fan too! I broke up with DeG around 2010 but it seems we have both matured some since then so I might give them anothe chance now that I am back to actively following the scene. So far I have really liked Sukekiyo too.
All the other names you mentioned are on my “to check out” list that keeps getting longer by the minute
