Really good song but people will probably hate me for this, but I think it could be even better with someone singing to the melody But awesome stuff!
PV is also fine, he must have rented some expensive place for a few hours - but having the damn blinking lamp behind him clearly visible way too often, was really lazy af…lol
Holy Ground was a standout track for me in Zodiac Sign just due to the vocals however minor they were.
Since his songs are instrumentals, you can just sing whatever you want at the moment whenever his breaks hit. I am surprised this isn’t more of a youtube or skills challenge given how fun it could be.
On the song itself, I like how more seamless the violins are in this one. It is less so, “I am done being awesome in the guitar, here is some cool violins now to take away your attention so that I can wow you again with my awesome guitar skills later” and more of what feels like backing instrumentals.
I would say the main problem is not that there are no vocals the problem is that the lead guitar only get used as a constant guitar solo.
to really create something more interesting instrumental wise there should be also some more sections where the lead guitar plays a secondary rythmic part.
This x1000! Are there even any rhythm guitar parts or is it all on the violin? Sometimes less is more. I like lead guitar but I can’t when its exclusively noodling. I need like 70% noodling max.
Thing is, I think he unterstood this point earlier in his career. Curse of Virgo is a way more engaging listen than much of his more recent instrumental output imo
We all agree with you! No one’s making fun of you.
Personally, I find it hard to imagine there be any vocals to this. The guitar is too busy. There’s not enough space in the mix as-is for vocals to float on top.
Totally agree. And that was the time when he was still doing “band” stuff.
Curse of Virgo was still a HGP release, even if half-instrumental.
Even the initial “Hizaki Project” was band and song-oriented.
Now it’s just “Hizaki”, having fallen into the trap of of making technically amazing, boring guitar virtuoso albums, like so many before him.
