how do i title this, eh, here it goes

I haven’t introduced myself on a forum in AGES!

I call myself oops just to confuse people. I started with an article in Popcorn magazine about D’espairsray in 2005 and let it destroy my whole life. Soon I was hooked on shady Mediafire downloads and in a few years I ended up having an impressive collection of 96kbps .mp3s and a reputation for being weird as fuck and having busted eardrums. A decade later I threw out the wrong HDD containing all my music, cried every day for a few weeks and didn’t touch vkei for a ages, except for intermittently checking if D’espairsray would reunite. I subsisted for a few years like a starving bedbug in an abandoned mansion by putting Hizumi’s tweets through Google Translate looking for the slightest hints of reunion, and only getting tweets about fishing and food. The food looked nice though!

My efforts ᵃⁿᵈ ᵇˡᵃᶜᵏ ᵐᵃᵍᶦᶜ have been adequately rewarded and not only do we have D’espa back, I’m slowly rebuilding my collection and discovering new bands along the way. I’m mainly into loud kei with powerful vocals (current favorites among active bands are Kizu and Arlequin) and interesting or experimental compositions, so if you have any songs that feel like a deep brain scratch I’ll all ears!

Welcome to the forum! D’espa was one of my favorite bands at one point, too! And I’m currently keeping an eye on Kizu as well!

Good to see someone else who’s familiar with those mid 00’s struggles! Glad to have you with us!

As an early 2000’s VK lover and huge D’espa fan who also frequented (dial up) internet for 96 kbps mediafire rares, w e l c o m e.
