HYDE has released a new digital single titled “PANDORA” on 2022/10/21. PANDORA will be the theme song for Star Ocean: The Divine Force, Square Enix’s new RPG game.

Hyde’s solo works tend to appeal to the western market so I’m not surprised with this release but over time the music and visual concepts have lost all originality. Not a bad song though as far as overall production, but way too similar to his other singles in recent years.

I think Final Piece was a pretty deliberate attempt at pulling in L’arc fans.

I’m a huge fan of Hyde going back many, many years. I like the kind of music he’s doing now, but it does start to feel like a whole lot of the same after a while. I like this song a lot and all, but I’m hoping he actually puts together an album in the near future with some new tracks and some variety.

His whole deal reminds me of Miyavi in a sense. Although to his credit, it seems to be working for him whereas I feel Miyavi comes off as less relevant than before.
