Fools in the Castle are an aspiring Post Emo Band from Japan. JRO took their latest release as a chance to have a talk with founding member (Sora) about their origins and future plans.
° Please introduce Fools in the Castle to our readers and anybody who is new to the band.
We are an Emo/ Post-Hardcore/ Metalcore based band.
° Who are the Band Members? And who is responsible for what in the band?

° What inspired you to play in a band? Is there any musician or band you look up to?

° The Band was originally called Fools in the Castletown, why did you decide for a name change and does the name have any special meaning?
After the withdrawal of a member, I, (Sora), felt it would be better for us to change the name. The most important reason why we used “castle town”, was that the high school we went to was located in a town with a castle. Kai-T came up with the name.
メンバーの脱退、私(Sora)が直感的にその方が良いだろうと感じたこと。
意味は高校があった場所が城下町だった事が1番の理由です。
この名前はKai-Tが持って来ました。
° Who composes the songs and writes the lyrics?
All songs and lyrics are written by (Sora).
°You just released a new single “Sea”, congrats. Can you tell us something about the release, or the MV?
Thank you.
I intended to show the best pop song I have written recently.
The lyrics are about conflict and during MV shooting, we weren’t able to perform to our satisfaction, because of strong winds. At that time, there was also a conflict.
Now it’s a memory.

最近作った曲で1番のポップソングを提供したつもりです。
歌詞は葛藤を歌っているのですが、Music Videoの撮影時も強風によって満足のいくまで行う事が出来ませんでした。当時はそこにも葛藤がありました。
今となっては思い出です。
° You call yourself a Post Emo Band, can you tell us something about the Emo scene in Japan?
I feel like there isn’t much of an emo scene in Japan nowadays.
Our own music is a mixture of many things, so I feel that it is difficult to generalize when asked what emo is.
今の日本にエモシーンは少ないように感じます。
そもそも私達の音楽も沢山のものが混合しているのでエモとは何かと言われると一概には言えないような気がします。
° Please tell us about Fools in the Castle’s future plans. Is there anything you would like to achieve?
We are planning to release a full album.
フルアルバムを出す予定です。
° Are there any bands you would love to play with in the future? Or any countries you would love to play in?
