Funny because they were at their best ripping off late-era 9GBO, their only fans are Monochrome Heaven oldheads, and their new music sounds like a cat getting strangled.

Know what? I used to play Dark Souls and listen to Nirdvandva on a loop, until i realized most of the good songs are FLATOUT rip offs of 9GBO/sukekiyo songs.

Could you name then any song to song rip off ? Like which exact song of IX is which exact song of 9GBO/sukekiyo ?
In my opinion there are similarities as there are similarities within any sub-genre in any music. Saying that something is a rip off is a very strong accusation so I hope you have something in mind to prove it do you ?

- 白蓮 is too close to “aftermath” by sukekiyo, its unreal.
- 壮美なゆらめき bears more than a striking resemblance in it’s chord progression to 9GBO’s “sink”.
- 有終の美 lifts it’s chorus directly from “Helena” by My Chemical Romance
- 夢現 is sukekiyo’s “aftermath/in all weathers”. Again.
- 暗礁 is just Rinkaku with worse programmed drums.

Edit: the new single so very wants to have the density and atmosphere of a sukekiyo song. It’s too bad the vocalist has one setting, and it’s Self-Titled Era 12012 Wataru. The mix is so shrill. None of the instruments have room to breathe, and the treble is cranked to the max.

Only 白蓮 reminds me a bit of aftermath after listening to both of those, but not to the point I could even consider it ‘rip off’. You understand the difference between rip off and inspiration do you ?

The sound/melody is honestly not bad but the vocals are weird af, not gonna lie.
