What are the extra items? Am guessing they are just like postcards or keyfobs or something??
Itās a poster, and then people are allowed to have two merch items that they bought themselves be signed (they will apparently have leftover merch for sale at the in-store event).
Yeah no if they gave you three items that would already be one thing but I meant 3 signatures; theyāre only giving a poster. To be fair it seems you can have non merch signed but you need approval first.
Also the people who bought meet and greet tickets were told after the fact there would be no Autographs for VIPs apparently and when they complained Fake Star just said āthings changeā in the rudest back and forth Iāve seen in a while. Oh well, get that Sena Tik Tok Fame money ig.
That, and the fact that some people wanting to slingshot the trip would already be gone by the time that the Instore event occurred. Staying in LA is expensive, I donāt blame people for wanting to enjoy Jiluka then get the hell out.
In other news, I just entered the draw for Mad Pit fest, which Iām sure will be much less of a shit show than international tours.
Damn that defo sounds like a rip but if some people are happy with that then just gotta let it be i guess. Haha.
Yeah Mad Pit always looks great!
Bratislava is sold out too.
Would be so happy for them if Paris and London would sell out too, that would be a completely sold out solo tour! A bit ironic because these are the biggest cities on this tour and the venues are tiny but they didnāt sell out lol
Anybody who has seen them in Warsaw last night? Videos looked great. Setlist is quite similar to the one from the Japan date and almost equally long. Thought theyād cut it to 10 or 11 songs like most VK bands do.
Am I going mental or do they play āS4VAGEā twice?? Setlist doesnt do much for me tbh so am glad i didnt pay the mad money to see them. Haha.
I guess savage twice is an overkill (heh). Okay that they are promoting the new stuff, but I wished they used the spot to play another song. Also, I like s4vage, but this song is overwhelming, people probably leave that show exhausted
Yeah, i was exhausted. And i really enjoyed the show.
Bratislava was frigging hot, no air conditioning at all⦠I bet it was 36C° inside. Huge repect that the band was playing more than an hour in the heat (they were so done at the end though, haha)
I mean, I kinda get it⦠there was at least one dude (who was also super tall and relatively in the front) and he filmed the entire show⦠I often couldnāt see the stage because his damn phone was in my way.
Other than that⦠at modern shows you will always get at least one phone out, it canāt be helped unless you ban phones. The band also didnāt seem to care and there was no āno phone policyā, so whatever.
The complaining about no movement⦠it was almost 40 degrees down there. I was actually glad there wasnāt a mosh pit because I think that would have killed me, lol. And I get it, at the burning man festival people also go crazy in the heat, but you canāt expect every location to be like that.
Given that about half of the audience are teens who may have never been to a metal show before, I donāt exactly blame them for not knowing what a wall of death or circle pits are.
Being honest, the few times that Iāve seen a VK band try and start them, theyāre always super tame and organized compared to other bands Iāve seen. Bringing the level of intensity that Iāve seen in some pits to a Japanese VK show would beā¦ill advised.
Even more annoying than the kiddos are these VK-exclusive listeners in their 30s who have clearly never been to a concert outside of Japan bemoaning that āno one has a sense of etiquette anymoreā becauseā¦there arenāt neat little rows of people performing synchronized furi, and some people have their phones out.
Welcome to literally every other country other than Japan.
I had a blast! Blew my voice out, canāt move my neck and we got Screamer instead of Ignite. Couldnāt be happier, it was excellent!
Thereās an even simpler reason why you shouldnāt bother recording with your phone at concerts, especially extreme metal concerts: itās simply too loud.
I got lucky at a Spiritbox concert because those guys play their shows at a reasonable volume, so my phone speaker can pick it up. And this still sounds terrible.
Not so for a JILUKA concert, or like 95% of concerts really.
Do you ever wonder why so many people record at a concert, but relatively few clips of said concert ever surface on social media? Itās because the vast majority of them sound like shit. The sound picks up and everything dissolves away in an endless wash of clipping because your phone was not designed to pick up frequencies at that volume.
Save everyone the headache. Put the phone away. Enjoy the experience.
But then I donāt have proof that I can post on my social media, duuuhhhhh
For them those videos can be used as PR, so yeah maybe thatās why they donāt care probably
There was a time I didnāt know what that was either, so I wouldnāt blame the teens for that either, it also probably doesnāt help that some of these kids main exposure towards metal is from the VK scene, so their might have expected for everyone to know the furitsuke instead
I remember seeing some asking about exactly that on r/visualkei before.
Itās refreshing seeing someone call out that side of the audience for once
Sounds like an iphone problem my Huaweiās sound for literally any show is mind blowingly good.
Donāt have an iPhone
Android power!
I think my phone just has great sound
Some phones def perform better (or worse) when recording loud audio. My Galaxy S20 does a decent job, picking up most (and in stereo), but a friend of mine has a Xiaomi from 2020 and while itās not a bad phone it struggles with recording good audio in videos so much that even recordings with normal levels sound distorted and shit. And both are Android phones, so yeah
