JILUKA announce WORLD TOUR 2024 K4RMA (Japan, Europe and US)

I managed to break away but I’m not sure about the rest of the crowd! Between his legs, chest, and ass, there was something for everyone XD

It actually ended up being a really great show! The audience was actually fine apart from some noisy OLDER fans who talked through the (admittedly lame) support band, as well as Jiluka themselves at one point. All the younglings seemed like good eggs.

The venue was tiny and extremely hot but that didn’t deter the band as they brought a ludicrous amount of energy, skill…and humour surprisingly (especially during the MC at the end. No spoilers but if you know, you know).

Despite the electronic elements being too quiet (as well as Sena at some points), the band was ridiculously good. Ricko is legitimately a beast; despite some issues with clean singing, his screams, gutterals, and squeals were insane.

The whole band interacted with the audience and were just incredibly affable and wholesome. I think we’re more used to band members being on some higher plane of existence, so it was refreshing to see so much humility and goofing around.

Oh, and we got Screamer as the first encore song! Last Faith would have been my first choice but I’m just glad we didn’t have Ignite.

There was a wall of death and a circle pit but from where I was they both looked pretty lame. There was a couple of sweaty, topless guys in there so that probably explains it.

All in all, it was fucking great. If you guys are still on the fence for any of the gigs that aren’t sold out, just go.

Apologies for any typos and the rambling, I am stupidly tired!

P.S merch included a t-shirt (sadly just a pic of the band and not any of the sick album art), a towel, a keyring, a charm, and chekis.

Who played with them?

Edit:
These guys?

If that was a short handed decision, then I guess their choice in available artists were limited.

Ah looks like it was decided a while back! I got my ticket through the Dice app rather than the venue so I had no idea.

Detroit Run were OK, just not my cup of tea; it felt a bit weird seeing a bunch of guys my age trying to recapture 00s emo energy.

They did a good job of hyping up Jiluka though, and a lot of the audience seemed to dig them. Opening acts for VK gigs in the UK are generally tone deaf and met with utter hatred, so they did well considering!

Sounds cool, glad you enjoyed the gig and it seemed successful generally. Honestly was expecting it to be a massive failure when it was announced so if this tour has been doing well maybe that gives hope to get more VK around these parts! And yep, definitely not going to be easy to find local support bands that match a VK band tbh…

I didn’t like the design either. I just don’t like band pictures on my shirts, except it’s like these retro 80s shirts. The Japanese shirts looked way better :frowning:

Also I saw some people say that they announced to be back in the UK in September already?

Thank you! Absolutely, it’s really encouraging to see so many of the dates were sold out.

Agreed, I’d rather have a cool image or logo.

That could very well be true! I was trying to process what Sena was saying (his English was good but I’m rubbish at comprehending people at the best of times).

Yepp @gacktfan also talked about it on our discord too and I’ve seen comments on Twitter saying that they announced to come back in September

I wonder if it’s just the UK then or another tour. Are there any festivals in the UK they could play it in September?

There is a bunch of festivals listed, UK has only one going.
Sure maybe some aren’t listed on there, but September isn’t really festival month

I could definitely see them play there

I might consider if they come to the NL, SNS made the tour look very fun to be at
I just can’t get into their type of music so well, so maybe if it’s not too expensive I could go for the vibes lol

If they don’t go too far with their prices, I went to Cologne and it was like €48 for a GA ticket.

They are quite fun guys live and they even took the time to promote their own merch lol

Hahaha as if… Actually went to Cosmic Void the last 2 years and its really good if you like black metal. This years line up besides 3/4 bands isnt doing it for me though. If Jiluka get on ANY fest in the UK its gotta be Bloodstock surely??

Why does the lead singer of Detroit donning that Hitler look? :skull:
