not a bad song at all! besides the corny rap section, it really reminds me of nokubura on their best. the breakdown is cool as shit

Imo it’s pretty good compared to recent songs, cut the rap and the breakdown and youd have a pretty solid tune tbh.

Horrible. It’s BLVCK all over again, just like every single release since BLVCK.

Ricko has been screaming the same single note ever since blvck was released. This man has range, but doesn’t show it anymore.

Sena has replaced complex guitar riffs, dramatic guitar solos and insane tapping with cringe raps. You can barely hear the guitar because it’s drowned in dubstep sounds.

At this point they just sound like a modern version of Brokencyde. Generic, lazy and cringe.

Even AI is more creative than them, that’s why they use it in their music videos.

I like this one a bit more than their other recent releases, but that rapping has to go.

Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII is M&M Rap God?! :scream: Not clickbait!

Better than the last one because at least it has a chorus, but I still think that if they’re going to do this nonsense they have to keep raising the nonsense bar. They’ve done all these tricks before.

The Sena raps don’t work for me because the song is effectively paused during them and has to wait for him to finish to resume playing. Some composers solve this issue by putting a “beat” under the rapping that people would enjoy listening to.

EGM is not gonna be for me.

I hope what people said about their gigs is true and they’ll change my mind at the festival, because atm their latest output sounds like a good time for a beer&piss break.
Chorus is at least discernable, but god damni this is so loud and edgy and just a pile of mess.

Someone please tell Sena to stop rapping, not all of us are 14 year olds who think its cool💀.
Better than KVLT actually, not as good as Venom but it’s enjoyable. As with most of their stuff, it works better live than as a recording, its just really fun mindless moshable music.

They’re pretty fun live, especially if a strong pit gets going. Full of energy and intensity throughout and Ricko always seems to be intense throughout.

Look, I am still on the point that Sena should live his rap dreams out in a side project, but maybe not with Jiluka.
His rap parts always pop in … Weird…

I like the rest of the song, is it a wall of sound? Yeah but :person_shrugging: some of us don’t mind and some are totally into it. Whatever vibes with you.

Idk, I like it :woman_shrugging: Minus the rap. Maybe I’d learn to like the rap part as well if Ricko and Sena did it together, like every other line was Sena and every other Ricko. If they played off of each other it might sound a bit more intentional and flow better. But my main issue with the raps is that Sena just doesn’t seem particularly natural with them, starting with his delivery and ending with his body language…
I do really like the breakdown after the rap, it makes up for it in this song.

This is more of the same. Which means it’s good.

Sorry all you hardcore fans but I find their music to be very formulaic. At least there is a chorus this time but not a very memorable or catchy one. I think we have already seen all this band has to offer when it comes to creativity. You hate to say it.

I loved the rap part the first time Sena did it, but now it’s gotten a bit old. It doesn’t help that the song is built on the same formula as all their recent ones. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but this one’s still not as good as Venom.

I am definitely not too much of a fan that I really can give myself a lot of room to talk. But for me the strenght of Jiluka always was their heavy chaotic verses followed with a good melodic refrain. They are not well suited for songs which rely for the whole duration of mass heavy riffs and screaming.

I think this is what pisses me off about their later songs, BLVCK I kinda liked because it was off the wall for them. But since, EVERY song is overloaded with electronic/dubstep sounds, there is a Sena rap randomly thrown in and some slow ass breakdown its so predictable and tired now for real. If this song didnt have the rap and breakdown I would have liked it way more. I dont get why they have gone this route when they already had a style of their own which was unique and interesting and not every song sounded the same and they used to throw in some interesting twists here and there. You just literally know now what every new Jiluka song is gonna sound like before youve heard a note and that’s lame.

BLVCK was fun but now they just keep using the same formula, and it gets less and less cool each time. I’m wondering where the spirit from IDOLA went. That was the last release from them that I genuinely enjoyed; to me, it sounded like they were experimenting in a way that seemed more natural to them.

Case in point, Sena’s raps have never sounded natural to me. And I get sick of Ricko screaming in the same pattern, with the same tone, with the same intensity as every other “EGM” song they’ve put out. It’s a shame because everyone in the band is so skilled. I feel like they’re being underutilized. They shine so much brighter in their older music…

I wanted to love this, and I tried to, especially since I’m seeing Jiluka in May, but it’s just so incredibly meh. Maybe it was just my murky ass earbuds, but it sounded too similer to every other song they’ve made since they started their “EGM” project. I personally love the concept, but I think it needs so much more work before anybody could be content with it.

Also, the Rap section felt so unusual and out of place. hopefullyits the first and last I hear of Sena’s rapping unless he improves.

I think if they blended the Electronic and Metal elements more. It could work. I’ve heard some similar stuff with Industrial metal before. I do want this to work out for Jiluka because, as I said, I love it and it is pretty unique. Hope the next time they drop, there’s a noticeable improvement.

That summed things up pretty perfectly imo.
