After disbanding in 2019, anisong girl group Kalafina will resume activities at their anniversary live on 1/15 at Tokyo Garden Theater.

Original founder and producer Yuki Kajiura is not involved in the revival; according to her statement on Twitter, the group reformed without her knowledge and she believes all the members decided to go on without her. They are now being produced by Satoshi Takebe.

Awkward… Especially for Keiko, who afaik is still a full member of FictionJunction!
But I’m not blaming them in any way. While Kajiura surely lives comfortably from anime royalties, It’s not like the solo career of any of these ladies is making waves. And at the end of the day, everyone has bills to pay.

If Im not mistaken there was some issues with their previous label, which was one of the main reasons for disbanding anyways. I wonder if boxing Kajiura out this time is a result of that?

I’m happy they’re back but Kalafina aint Kalafina without her compositions.
