Kansai Rock Summit'24 Line Up

The schedule gets posted about a week prior to the show. I’m getting the Osaka Muse bands out of the way on the 17th, but I’m definitely eyeballing Umbrella, Nazare, Kane to Juusei, and might check out Zeke Deux again as well.

Schedule got posted!

Of course the two bands I wanna see most play at the same time :smiling_face_with_tear:

Yeah, not going to have fun choosing between Umbrella/Nazare or Shingeki/Kanetojuusei

I always look at these posts even though I’m not going lol
Bless that Bebikin, Leetspeak and Kaneto are in one row in the pink column, then I could grab Lyrica in red, then another run on Leetspeak and Kaneto in green if I’d feel like it to hang with bangya’s

I’ll have to catch one of the pre shows on the 17th. The one at Osaka Muse so I can check Jigsaw and see Xanvala on the main day

Not sure who to start with yet but maybe going to Kakumay’s Q&A to start slowly and after lunch hop from QJACKTHE to to i.D.A. to Xanvala. I just can’t decide who to choose after that Rides in ReVellion, Garakuta or Libravel  I could try for Nicolas as well but let’s see how stressed I wil be.

So from what I can gather, the Q&As also have full-band cheki sales going on, contingent on fans purchasing something specific from the bands through their reservation forms. Purchases can be paid for anytime between 9 am and 30 minutes prior to the Q&A.

Not all have been announced, but from what I can see:
The Gallo - Purchase their single Villian for 1500¥
Leetspeak - Purchase 4,000¥ of cds
GrimAqua, Ran and Libravel: 2,500¥ merch purchase for a 2-shot, 5,000¥ merch for a full band shot

Went to the pre evening event at Osaka Muse and saw Z-Clear, RAN and Jigsaw.

I would have stayed longer but I am still recovering from a painful ear infection and I was way too hungry

All three had a decende show but I like Jigsaw most because they seemed to have more of a concept. Like the band members formed the band logo with their hands and stood still until the vocalist came onto the stage. They kept doing small things like these through out the 25 min performance. And their furi was a bit more individual than that of other bands, I have seen recently.

The night continued with some more unique furi from The Gallo and Hitchcock, but yeah, Jigsaw’s vocalist was one of the better stage presences of the night.

Ah, I was wondering if you went. We probably saw each other. I don’t know if you noticed but I was the white girl finishing her drink at the dust bins for most of Z-Clear’s part  I was late and ran to the Muse x___x no time to drink something before…

I was the white girl in the pink flowery top who was in the second row, copying the Saizen’s furi for every band. I managed to pass by Hitchcock on my way out and squeezed out a “Tanoshikatta desu”

I was still not fully recovered from my ear infection so I only managed to see five bands:

Zeke deux: they handed out their flyers afterwards and I talked to them briefly about their EU tour. Their gig was ok but it did not stand out to me.

孔雀座 (QJACKTHE): I enjoyed them a bit more than zeke deux but it was sad when they said “please come to our oneman… our first and last oneman”

Leetspeak Monsters: I missed the first 10 minutes of their perfomance but it seemed like a lot of fun. It eas funny that D13 kept talking to the audience when the curtain already had closed.

Xanvala: They were my main reason to come  it was so cool to hear my black live and we did a wall of death.

Garakuta: That was fun fun fun! They played at the anima and the stage had no curtain so we saw the sound check and they had to play a bit of a song for it and Koji was like “now we begin, just joking” but the audience did furi and head bagging anyway for the sound check song. Koji had to go through the room to tell the people what should be changed about the sound. He also came down to us during the live.

I really liked that you could see bandomen every where in the streets and that there was a lot of contact possible but everybody was very respectful and did not bother them too much.

Yeah, I said Hi casually to some bands/people, but otherwise let them continue on with their day. I did get a chance to talk with Kakeru from Zeke Deux later in the evening. We switched between Japanese and English and I talked about the last time that I saw them the year prior and he asked where I was from.

The crowd was even smaller back then, but the energy of everyone was much higher too. I felt like the second row people this time around were too far back for any of the rest of us to get close enough and there wasn’t any deviation from the typical “stand in a line and do furi” like there was last year, so the energy suffered a bit.

I might have been next to you, if you happened to be there with a friend.

Other bands of the day:

Ninth in Pluto - My ticket number of 451 didn’t give me much optimism of getting up close, but I dumb lucked my way into a second row spot (I suppose I forgot that people will rush whatever venue their favourite band is playing at just to sign the Saizen reservation form and then leave). After snapping a quick sound check photo, I got ready for the set.

Very energetic with tons of head banging furi. I had debated whether I should have stick to lighter bands today to give my neck a break, but eventually decided “fuck it, I’ll see who I originally came to see.” Ended it off by pulling a lucky Reika cheki

Setlist:
Ignite
Hollow
Discode

Departure

Nurie - Deciding to slow things down with some pleasant light Kei. That’s pretty much a concise summary of Nurie, but they did manage to fit in six songs to the Setlist, including Akuma and Room 6.

Zera - Moving up just a little bit, I found myself within the first five rows for Zera. Back to head banging and energetic furi, I was glad that I decided to check them out as I had missed them on my last trip out.

Nameless - This is where I started debating whether to go for the light, or the dark. But at the end of the day, BabyKingdom is just too hit and miss for me, so I made my way across the street to Anima for Nameless’ set. I found myself a comfy third row spot and got ready to sit my sore ass feet down, when the lady right in front of me started asking me something.

Now, my Japanese listening comprehension is a work in progress as it is, and listening to a couple hours of loud music means that my hearing isn’t 100%, so after she got her friend who speaks some English to use as a go between she was asking if it was okay if she went wild with her furi in case I accidentally got hit by a stray arm. I said that everything was alright, and she could go as hard as she wanted. Her friend also said that she wanted to tell me about her favourite member, Koki, the drummer.

So suddenly, I remembered who she was talking about. Last year, a blonde man handed me a flyer, and said “My name Koki, follow me on Twitter” before he and his band mates were shuffled away by a police officer.

Nameless definitely didn’t disappoint. Probably the most enthusiastic crowd of the day, with the highest energy furi. They’re one of the few bands that didn’t post a Setlist, to my knowledge, but I recognized a few songs from my master Kansai Rock Summit playlist that I threw together.

Leetspeak Monsters - I have seen them before, but wanted to catch them again, mainly because I had a photo appointment with them a bit later. They definitely win the award for “the crowd kind of doing their own thing” in regards to furi. I was standing behind the guitarist’s personal cheerleading squad, and it did kind of make it hard to follow along. I didn’t come here just to make hearts at the guitarist, lol. But a fun time, as always.

Setlist
The Beginning
Wonderland
Mr Halloween
Freak
Black owl
Jolly retro!
Monster’s Party
Gothic

Kane to Juusei- I had another difficult choice before me. Try my luck at Shingeki no Awake knowing that Bronze had been filling up most of the day and risk getting sent back to BigCat with a much worse spot, or stay where I was knowing that Chill wouldn’t be operating at 100% given his recent vocal chord troubles. At the end of the day, I decided to stay where I was and I don’t regret it. Yes, Chill got the audience to fill in some screams and chants. Yes, he got some gang vocal help from the other guys. But the atmosphere wasn’t sacrificed at all. If anything, it helped out.

東京都無職 小林アキヒト

After I was finished with seeing Kaneto, it was time to head back to Sunhall West for my scheduled talk/photoshoots with The Gallo, Leetspeak and Kaneto Juusei. I was initially expecting cheki, but it seems like to get as many people as possible out in the shortest amount of time, they went with phone photos. I had enough time to introduce myself, where I was from and thank them for their time before walking away with my phone.

Umbrella - I missed the first song due to Kaneto Juusei’s talk going a little over schedule, but still managed to get there in time for Witch. Would have loved an opportunity to see Umbrella for longer, especially after they couldn’t make it last year; but there’s always next time.

Setlist
Aran
Witch?
Dilemma
Kazamidori
Amazing

Shiva - Crossing the street back to Anima, I decided to go with a band who I really liked last time around vs. one that I also like, but have never seen before. They definitely had fun with the soundcheck, almost jamming out a full song before preparing to come back out for real. Everyone was tired, but Shiva brought our energy back. All in all, a great end to the day.

Setlist
Aste-Roid
Uncontrol Riot

I was there with my dad, I think he was the tallest person in the room. :joy:

Wow wow wow you did catch a lot of bands. Wish I would have been in health  but the aircons every where don’t go well with pain in the ear. Had to wear a hat most of the time  looking like an idiot…

I took my dad to a few sit down shows last year, but he thought that even Luna Sea’s fans’ furi was too much. I can’t even imagine trying to take him to any modern bands, lol.

He thought it was pretty cool and would not stop comparing them to kizz  but he had eye surgerey recently and the stage lights were too much, so he only saw parts of Zeke deux and QJACKTHE.

I wish my mom had have time, tho. I once took her to an X concert and ever since she’s asking if we can see them again and is doing the X furi. She even gave Yoshiki a present. I think she would have a lot of fun wirh the diffrent bands and all kinds of furi and she doesn’t mind some heavy music as a Led Zeppelin stan
