Let's spill the tea - VK Rumors and Gossips

Also when it comes to labels a lot of bands share the same staff.

Not me buying cheki from the same lady in the same week at a Razor (Nagano), Xaa Xaa (Shinjuku), & The Madna (Ikebukuro) concert. :see_no_evil_monkey:

Just yesterday he tweeted something cryptic about stepping down as producer for XY and airing stuff out that the members supposedly didn’t even know.

Not to mention the weird one @ ing toshi and asking to talk. Lol someone get grampa off twitter.

The same lady does the merch for deadman, kein, and Gibkiy. i feel like i’ve seen her sooo many times that i should know her name by now :joy:

This is another solid strategy. I might have had a burner account in the past. :face_with_peeking_eye: But I’m a mature adult now. Or something…

Ryoga’s long posts are the best, that dude is funny. I like how he doesn’t take himself too seriously. I wish I knew enough Japanese to understand his recordings, but there’s no way.

Since someone brought up Yoshiki… I went to Taste of Chaos in 2008 in Long Beach and I got passes for me and my friend. We both watched Yoshiki throw a massive conniption fit because he tried to just waltz past security to get backstage and they had no clue who he was and he had no pass, so they politely told him no. He ended up back there later, but damn. It was definitely a “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!?!” moment. No dude, people don’t know who you are out here, I’m sorry. Pure comedy.

Did he even have anything to do with that Tour? I know that it was this “Jrock Revolution” company liaisoning with Kevin Lyman and team to bring MUCC/D’espairsRay/The Underneath over, but as to whether they had any connection to Yoshiki, I’m not sure.

Not that I’m aware of, he didn’t perform or do anything with fans. He does have a tendency to just show up to things. Although, it’s definitely possible that he personally knew people involved with the tour.

I’ve seen/ran into him at events a few times and to be completely honest with you, every time he gave off a sort of desperate vibe and had a bit of a staring problem, in my opinion. This was all a long time ago and I don’t personally know him at all, so who really knows.

I wonder if anyone here has had a relationship with their honmei before  I feel like being in a relationship with your honmei would suck though, because if you break up/cut contact then you lose a boyfriend and honmei essentially

It’s real when the staff recognizing you :sob::sob::rofl:

I was a Born fan that despised Razor but decided the only way I’m gonna see Ryoga live is through Razor. I hated how compared to Born Razor seemed like a boyband. Every dude had a concept and color.

The first concert I go to he introduced themselves as “We’re the Johnny’s of Visual Kei!”:rofl: the band went along with it too - it’s such a good joke i’m surprised he hasn’t repeated it since

Younger me would probably shoot for it but I’m a divorced woman who once married a man she idolized. In my imagination I’d be Melody and marry Miyavi and run off to the sunset so there’s all kinds of variables that could happen - it could work out? It could end up terribly - you’ll never know unless you try. Just because it went terrible for someone it might be different for someone else so I wouldn’t say don’t date your honmei.

Just be aware of what you’re getting into and what your boundaries are.

Gosh i used to be skeptical about their relationship back when it was first announced but some months ago miyavi appeared on a tv program and they had him listen to a letter from melody that she wrote him in japanese.

He roasted her japanese a bit but then the way he talked about her was like 100/10 i love my wife energy. Then their kids spoke to the camera and were like ‘our mom and dad are sooo in love, it’s crazy’.

Like damn, goals af. If any scandal ever comes out of them i would be devastated because love is dead /loljk

But yeah i would not date my honmei at all either. I’d have to deal with his other fans being obsessive, for one. Then if he’s popular you’d have to worry about other women throwing themselves at him. If he’s not popular he’s doing crazy fanservice poses during 2 shots.

And if you go to his lives you’ll be targeted like so many other bandmen gfs. Nah, too much trouble.

Absolutely.

Look at these long ass posts on Gazette Ruki’s insta. Those ate so personal. That’s def him writing. Also Reita’s twitter was himself. That last tweet before his death was refered to in the members statements.
And even Kyo’s ugly dog photos ate surely himself posting them.

If an account only posts official stuff like release and tour dates it’s most likely not run but the member but a lot of bandomen post themselves on their accounts. The bullshit ratio is just to high lol

im sure like most bandmen run their accounts themselves, but probably have some restrictions

Kyo is the king to post bullshit on X.

In my imagination lol it’s funny to think that Miyavi didn’t speak English at all initially but was studying and by chance met Melody on a show she hosted.

Yep, the dude that was kissing his fans actually had a girlfriend at the time too

Vkei very much carries themselves like idols. I’ve seen Tsurugi & Hizaki like fans posts but for other members surely they have restrictions on how they can interact with fans.

Metalcore, not a thing at all. I’ve had pretty much all of my faves interact with my posts. Not that it means anything “like that”, metalcore doesn’t sell the fake boyfriend fantasy and doesn’t sell 2-shots or whatever.

So that explains why I only get vkei bandmen from metalcore bands dming me lmao

lol different world. Easily seen with Dexcore whenever they promote with Vkei or metalcore. You can usually record at their metalcore concerts and they interact with the crowd more regardless of gender.

I have been giving myself a crash course since reading more of this thread and other websites, I didn’t know what an “honmei” was. I’m probably more sensitive to this because I’m a mother of a little girl and I wasted years of my life and got my heart broken on more than one occasion due to my own naivete and tendency to give people the benefit of the doubt too much, but this does not seem like a healthy thing to me. And logically, people are probably very aware of that, but as we all know, sometimes emotions take on logic and win to our own detriment. Just be careful, is what I’m saying. I’m not gonna tell you what to do, because I think you know already. I know there is a fun and somewhat exciting side to this stuff, but it’s not worth it in the end. It’s easy to slip into this kind of thinking and behavior when you’re lonely, bored, etc. But your heart is worth protecting and you can find excitement in other things in life.

Roses, I’m proud of you for not falling for that and getting hurt, which is exactly what would have happened. Well done, you’re smarter than him.

Ridley, we seem to have a lot in common. I married a guy who was a former rock musician… except that I had no clue, I thought he just played bass in his home for fun. He didn’t tell me about it until more than a year into our marriage and more than 7 years into our relationship. I learned that he wasn’t a good guy when he was younger and he was hiding that info from me because… he still wasn’t a good guy. He put on a show to lock me down, the man should have gone into acting. It worked until he had a breakdown! Don’t be like me.

Geez, not to judge, but that was surely an eye opening statement. Meanwhile, here I am wondering if the current bandmen that born in the early 2000’s had Dynasty Warriors as their musical influence.

Absolutely. Most bands don’t have staff for that sort of thing anyway. I can imagine some labels running the @bandofficial but their personal accounts are most likely used by them. I always use Kamijo as an example because I know him best but he definitely tweets himself most of the time. When he doesn’t, like when he is busy preparing for the night’s performance, the post specifically mentions it was posted by the staff.

So I also don’t know what it really means either (not just the word itself but actually having a honmei) - if I was overseas I could just pick different guys and it be whatever. From my fandom I’ve seen it’s like you stick to that one guy. Even if you’d rather pick someone else since in this case the band knows you (as a fan) and you kinda established a relationship with that dude so it’s just awkward af to pick someone else.

…very host boy ish :eyes:

Like when it came to 2-shots I wanted to get a pic with every dude and the merch guy just stopped me and questioned if that was what I really wanted to do (i.e. you cheater!)

hugs

I was very much in the same boat. If I was younger i’d be trying to chase my honmei but as I was already married to someone I idolized and when I realized what the difference a fantasy is between reality I was in too deep. So I bring up points like hey - they might not be financially well off which could be an issue if you’re way more financially stable than they are.

I exaggerate how thirsty it was (like if it was really that bad he wouldn’t have done that in front of everyone) but still I’m not the kind to comment directly on bandmens posts or tag unless I’m commenting about their music but I did otherwise that day.

Which bandmen? I know Gen Sunami listens to Dynasty Warriors which is awesome :fire:

To ensure this thread remains focused on rumours and gossip, feel free to add any other thoughts about honmei culture here and here.
