Hello! I realize this may be a bit of a longshot, but I wanted to reach out and see if there’s any interest.
I’m a vocalist inspired by visual kei, and I’ve been making a lot of hidden progress recently, feeling ready now to start collaborating with others. I’d love to work with other passionate singers to cover songs by bands like Gakido, Monolith, Mixed Speakers Inc., or any band where we can both work on different vocal parts.
If you’re interested in seeing what I’ve got or collaborating feel free to reach out. I genuinely believe this could work out wonderfully, especially if we choose songs we’re both excited to perform and can do justice to. My style ranges all over the place. I’m planning to collab with someone to perform Sweet Perfume by Gakido soon.
@rsm_rain Yes I will send you guys unlisted Youtube videos since it’s probably easier that way! I am from New Jersey in the U.S. You?
@Jun Monolith is indeed very nice. I’d love to hear you too!
@Forest Hey guitarists are just as awesome! Maybe we can collab some time!!
I did two of these today and one yesterday. They should be listenable with earphones.
I hope you guys like what you hear so far! I have not practiced these songs much but I think they should be enjoyable. I sing new songs all the time for fun.
Oh, just realised I didn’t reply to your message yet… sorry~ I’ll get back to you asap
As for your inquiry, I’d love to join you on some Monolith!! Actually have this one song that I’d love to cover for ages but don’t know anyone who wouldn’t fight with me over the Ryu part Also wouldn’t mind taking Keitas, just not for this one
But if you’re cool with it we can keep up in the dms!
Woah which song?! It doesn’t matter to me what the song is generally, as long as it’s good lol. I don’t mind doing any part either as long as it suits me well enough, so if you have preferences that’s great!
Returning to say that song is really really good and if we can figure out how to do this right it would be fantastic. Curious to hear your voice and ideas.
i’m not big on making covers myself, but your voice is nice, your taste in tracks is A+, and i’d be curious to hear how you sound on new music w/ some vocal processing.
it seems you’re honing in on a very ‘cool 2000s’ style of singing (at least that’s the dumb name i’ve come up in my head for it lol) that’s not the huge Kamijo vibrato or the cute Yuugiri mask voice. nothing against those two styles! but it’s cool to see someone else from overseas develop their voice in a way that’s not the most common styles of vkei singing, but still distinctly vkei.
Tysm! I do have a good amount of experience singing 2000s VK songs so adopting the style (inflections, tone switches and such) sorta just came naturally for me xD and yes I can sing in English. It is probs easier for me to sing in English actually bc lyrics are a hard thing for me to absorb and most of my VK covers involve me staring at the screen through 80% of it which restricts my posture by a lot…
Next Weekend sounds fine, gives you a good amount of time. I think I want to do my part last so I know exactly how I want to do it.
We will need to make sure our vocals harmonize well together bc a lot of the vocals in that song overlap but I don’t think that would be an issue. I’ve never done vocal collabs before but I think it should be fun and easy honestly.
I’ll definitely shoot a DM btw. I have a few questions I wanna ask for clarity.
