Damn I completely forgot about Sleepy flow and that ripoff!
GDS still has one of their best ballad: Mujun to Sora, that sounds perfectly the same live. Can’t wait to hear their retakes.
I’m sentimental towards GDS, although I agree it could have been more consistent. Shadows still remains their goat in my book, but I could not imagine going to their gig and not hear bangers like Quarter Life.
All my personal highlights from GDS, minus Mujun to Sora, are already on The Buried, but maybe this retake will give the album more consistence.
It’s funny you say that. I remember watching an old lynch. live on my iPod Classic like, 10+ years ago and thinking how bad they sounded live… Flash forward to 2016, and they were incredible the first time I saw them live. They’ve really become something.
Yeah, honestly, Hazuki looked like shit with his sweaty, long hair in the early years and all the other guys looked super old. These days, he’s pretty much a male model and the older looking members have aged like fine wine lol.
Am I the only one who prefer Hazuki’s old voice in their first album/mini album? He was so raw, so brutal, just like he was after leaving Deathgaze. Perhaps because he sounded a lot like Sou (or Sou like him…)
They didn’t sound that bad around 2008/2009 on their Official Bootleg but Haz’ sure looked older x)
I wouldn’t say I prefer it (Not a big fan of GDS), but I appreciate their earlier, unrefined and raw sound. I prefer it these days, but I’ll admit it’s a little too polished.
I’m with you in the rawness of Hazuki’s voice in their older material. The strenght and power behind his screams sounded so visceral in their indies era but maybe that technique (or lack of it) wasn’t sustainable in the long term. Safe or not, i loved the sound of it and scratch a very specific itch in me, but well i still like his current style of singing and screaming tho!
I strongly agree; it kind of hurts seeing so many people diss my favorite eras of lynch. LOL. I’m an absolute sucker for that 2005-2009 period, big fan of 2010-13 too but nothing compares to their early sound & energy in my opinion. Especially when it comes to Hazuki’s vocals. I think he’s still good now, but he doesn’t sound like he has the…fire? The blazing spirit? That he seemed to have in their indie days. In short, yeah, not as raw.
Them putting a short medley of previous single snippets and, apart from CALLING ME, each snippet literally sounds the same.
lyncharoni never stops, lmao
