MIYAVI 2 new albums "Lost In Love" and "Found In Pain" release

I don’t thin SKIN was a turning point on anyone’s carreer but Yoshiki talking up to someone I can believe. I still don’t know any specifics on how he was promoted but It kinda worked I guess…

i remember watching his 30th birthday live stream and hearing an unreleased track that later turned into ahead of the light. then, a few years later, the final version of that came out and it was a huge letdown. i think that was the beginning of the end for me. i’m not a fan of…whatever this genre of music he does now but also i am getting old. this may be tangentially related lol

It was a very stupid controversy yes, just like most Japanese media controversies I feel lol oh well

@nekkichi right, was including SKIN in the overseas touring bullet point but maybe connections? huh maybe (and living in LA in the Melody bullet point but IDK if his living in the US was even related to that or not)

but to be completely fair his popularity has always had a lot to do with being likeable too I feel - like, … just more down-to-earth and approachable than most vk guys maybe lmao (easy feat)

Damn that EAT song and this Stay Up All Night are so embarrassing and cringe. It is so obvious that he wants a viral hit like a kpop song. Maybe the PVs are enough for some garbage viral thing, for the tiktok generation, but the songs are too weak and generic to become it.

He is having a superstar status abroad? 46k views in 3 days is that big? Of course its good numbers for a japanese artist, but if he keeps releasing stuff like this I don’t think its… hm what should I say… It won’t last forever.

I finished the PV just above just for the lulz, and I literally got goosebumps from the extreme amounts of cringe. A classic Oh Oh Oh can never go wrong, right.

By the way wasnt this guy on some kids show the other day?
This GUY, Miyavi san, is DESPERATE AF. He might be making some money from all of this but it truly hurts to see. Ugh. I have always known about Miyavi but I never thought it was this awful.

Someone is annoyed bc I got too real in the Miyavi topic huh lol but obviously everyone is making music for the money no matter if you want to think your faves aren’t, are free souls, etc. Can’t have a lot of artistry with 0 money for the producing expenses.

But the idea that this stuff is just what others want not what he wants again seems to be v misguided.

When people in his concerts scream his “oldies medley” songs yet that’s not the focus you just know it’s not about the money as much as it is about doing what he wants to do lol.

I feel like the real turning point is when he was cast in that Angelina Jolie movie, he got real hollywood connections as this mystical asian rockstar an then the sellout era began.

Then he pivoted to that kpop adjacent soundscape that was becaming increasingly more popular by the end of the last decade.

But is he really THAT popular? Fake news? lol
I dont mean to offend any miyavi fans, just ignore my posts and think that im a clown.

I just don’t understand how you can lose this kind of creativity over years, was this all fake forged persona? idk, his visual era just hits different

this is such a throwback, but this was some of his best music imo

Miyavi has revealed the cover for the second part of this years’ album(s) and changed the release date. It was originally October 9th and it’s been moved to the 23rd. Honestly the info on his social media and official fanclub isn’t that clear but I’m pretty sure both will be released on the 23rd.

I want to imagine that this album will have the song Code Geass and I haven’t heard the Lost in Love album yet but I want to give it a chance. It has two or three things that in my opinion They are redeemable in the end, let’s wait for this second album Another question and I want someone to be able to answer me, will this second part come out the same day the first part comes out on digital platforms?

I believe both (Lost In Love + Found In Pain) will be released on the 23rd. There’s a version available to pre-save on Tidal (probably on other streaming platforms as well) and it doesn’t show Running in My Head (the Code Geass song) on the tracklist.

Looks like the streaming version will be a mix of both albums. This is the tracklist of the CD version of LOST IN LOVE, two songs aren’t on the streaming one

  1. Intro
  2. Broken Fantasy
  3. Eat Eat Eat
  4. We Stay Up All Night (La Da Da Da)
  5. Real Monster
  6. Mirror Mirror
  7. Dancing With The Dark *not on streaming
  8. Tragedy Of Us
  9. Last Breath *not on streaming

It’s a feature not a bug

I just listened to new album and I also have to say that I am not impressed. There is not much variety and it’s just nothing special. It doesn’t bother me that much that it is not really rock music - he already had a whole pop music album in the past (MYV Pops), but that one felt like him and was different than the stuff you can hear everyday everywhere in mainstream media.

I am kind of a Miyavi Fan - meaning: I love his old stuff but I have to agree with the many people who are saying that his newer stuff is pretty bland. Nevertheless, I still keep up to date with him in the hopes the next album will be better

But unfortunately I have to say: For me, the best thing he did in the last ten years is the “Nevermind” Cover. On the one hand, it is kind of sad that I consider his best work recently a Cover Version, on the other hand, he did manage to breathe new life in a song that I used to consider generally good, but was listened to so many times that I just couldn’t hear it anymore (in germany, we say “tot gehört”). So I give him that.
