MUCC new album "新世界" (Shinsekai) release

This song has grown on me since, and I really like the Korn/nü metal vibe too. Overall, it’s all classic MUCC. Yep, the chorus sounds uninspired, but it fits with the verses. Cool MV btw.

Not sure what to think about it…seems after 懺把乱/GONER they lost most of the “energy”, still waiting for my copy get the whole idea.

I wonder if they mispelled R&R Darlin in the video and album…as they write it correctly in the site/video tracklist.

A weird mix of “hmmm not bad” and “oh nooo” but mostly “mehh, I guess I can listen to this…”

not expecting an all-timer here but it should be fun enough

I really like Goner, but the album has nostalgic vibes. Whether thats a good thing or not, is up to the listener.

EDIT: I HATE NEED.

Edit #2: Color is a bop.

Since when do you guys think Mucc “changed” to quantity over quality?
Tatsuro’s solo project too… so uninspiring.

Not saying there aren’t some decent sounding things in there but oh man.
I am happy if I get 1 or 2 good songs out of a new Mucc album recently…

I would say the times when they could release a bunch of stuff with consistent quality maybe ended around Gokusai (Shion, Karma or Kyutai had their good moments, but not consistent imo). At those times they were still releasing singles and albums non-stop with quite good level, with not much filling. And then, at least for me, they started to have many upside downs; Shangri-la, TEOTW, Myakuhaku, etc. are all albums that I hardly go back to fully listen them again (just would go for some tracks), something that doesnt happens to me with the others. Or maybe I got old and got stuck in the old times :joy:

I don’t think they ever did. Their albums used to be way much longer (usually 69 minutes), had way more tracks and they were putting out albums way faster.
They probably just don’t want to do the same thing all over again. Or maybe it’s your taste that actually changed? Aku was actually their most successful album commercially.

I’ve been a fan for 16 years now and Kowareta piano, Shangri-la and Myakuhaku are definitely in the top 5 for me.

Are they releasing it on 6/9 because…. 69?

That’s interesting, those are probably their full albums I enjoy the most. Maybe they started to open up their appeal a you felt left behind?

A whole new thing to celebrate!

For me all those lose in the comparasion with Homura Uta/Houyoku/Kuchiki no Tou/6/Aiushuu-Antique combo for example. Houyoku/6 were a “big” change too back in the day, but still find them to be really good albums.
But dont get me wrong, I´m not a hater :joy: I still ordered the FC edition (its the only band I would do that) and go to their shows if I have the chance, just dont find most of their newer stuff as good/great as before.

PS.
albums started to ship, so soon we should be able to listen the whole thing. :crossed_fingers:
