Nameless Crown - Throne of Disgrace (review)

Throne of Disgrace is the debut single and PV from Indonesian Visual Kei band Nameless Crown.

In the first few seconds, the drum bit which is followed by the fast guitar riff, sets the mood for the rest of the song. This, for sure, is not gonna be some slow rock ballad.
Throwing that sand/dirt on the snare & cymbal might be something simple but effective to make the visuals more dramatic.

Most of the band members are dressed quite modern but the vocalist with his gothic lolita (?) appearance reminds me someone from 90’s visual kei era. And his eyes are bit haunting. I find his voice is quite pleasant. Can’t decide if I like his singing voice or growls more.

As a millennial who’s used to nu-metal, little bit of metalcore and melodic death metal, this song gives me what I am looking for - a contrast - where the song switches from a more slower melodical part to faster paced thingy with harsher vocals, breakdown, guitar solo. It has it all.

Most of the lyrics is in Japanese with few parts in English.

I think it’s a solid debut from this band and and also a proof that decent visual kei songs can exist outside Japan.
