@RavanDahlia hey!! I’m aware from insta pics (like the fact that he was showing arm in the birthday pictures too) but it’s so cool that he’s finally showing both arms’ tattoos in a promo pic, hadn’t seen this until now! I’m shocked at this Gremlins concert, have you seen it? I’m just happy he s been in a mood to visual-up again since a few years ago (vk is not dead bc they’re undead yknow) and now this.
@delkmiroph LOL what is this video, pretty sure I’d seen something like this before the tiktok days or is it dejavu? in any case I agree that Sendai Kamotsu needs to recreate it.
@zeetabyte lol I am aware and expecting the goods c’mon don’t let us down – seriously I just think it’s funny how Ruka normally dresses up just enough to make everyone forget that he is pretty and then will do something to make us go “wait…” . I remember a lot of people feeling this in the Mello cosplay days lmao chill my dude !!!
I’ve only seen the one clip that he showed of the concert, he might have more footage but who knows if he’ll share it. On the fanpla he’s shown more photos of his new tattoos, and videos of his back tattoos being done
I was at one of the Gremlins lives in Tokyo, specifically the one where he ended up shirtless at the end. Hitsugi said he worked hard to lose weight and wanted to show more skin than before because it’s something he’s never really done. Said he drank less and ate better. Then he made a joke about how Sakito is like this all year-round and it’s really hard to stay skinny like that.
Songs are pretty neat! I like Laberinth more but I thin mixing is a bit worse than Kuon. Kuon also has stuff in the middle I like a lot but Ruka has too many songs like this and I could see it coming from a mile away. Really like the overall diretion… and Yomi is sooo back! Excited for more.
How did you actually manage to stream it? I really do appreciate how there’s placehold links for every platform ever, but between being unable to play it in any platform I tried and for some reason Labyrinth and Kuon artist being “NIGHTMARE!” on Spotify I thought they’re still working on it?
From the birthday concerts I liked Labyrinth more. But from the official releases it seems Labyrinth wasn’t mixed right. Which is strange coming from Sakito he isn’t known for sloppy composition. Kuon is probably better for studio imo
Labyrinth is good but I really wished the chorus was a bit stronger. I was really hyped during the buildup for it but then… ahhh. Its like they were sooo close to making something really memorable, like sooo close…
I also feel that something is weird with the mixing on this one.
Have to be a party pooper on Kuon sorry, that ballad has been made 1 million times already by other vk/jrockbands, with more or less the same chorus. Its definitely not a bad song, its the better song of the two.
I think composition is solid but maybe Laberinth had less time in te oven for the mixing/mastering stage. It’s primed for a polish up when it pops up in an album.
Labyrinth is better live for sure. The buildup is more rewarding. This really seems like two quick releases so they could say “see we released music this year”.
They are not releasing this out of compromise (they are indies now after all). They have a special live, a tour and then their 25th anniversary one right after the other. This release us part of ramping up everything that’s coming after it.
At first listen I had issues with this but then I checked another song and realized the issues were more about my own equipment or ear or both. For now it feels like there’s too much going on at times, like all instruments are in the same place, same center, and it’s messy, some should be louder and vice-versa and also muffled and I did think it could be a production issue at first - but IIRC someone did talk about how the industry trend used to be Loud Is Better and not anymore, and everything being uniform would be desirable bc you’re expected to do your own mixing adjustments in your device according to your own preferences. In short, there could be personal issues at play, production trend issues and/or even actual mixing issues - honestly sometimes their mixing is weird AF, not the first if thats the case. Lol I think it’s been an issue almost … forever except for VAP/maybe Avex days but shoot at me if this take is wrong (coming from the person who gave Nox:Lux a migraine/10 bc of that)
So far both tracks seem amazing to me composition-wise and whatever I hear sounds great. If I can expect them to get better once I get these things fixed then that’s excellent. Love both honestly. My first time listening to Kuon I thought it was really interesting despite the weirdass choice of the most generic boring intro ever, and it might be my fave release of theirs in a while ( … well even because they haven’t released in a while) ! Labyrinth is also super good though more in a “expected it” way somehow lol.
@zeetabyte gosh I wonder. Did they have label issues? I thought the contract just expired or something basic like that? If that’s what’s going on that sucks.
