NoB (DAIDA LAIDA), real name 山田信夫 (Nobuo Yamada), has passed away on 8/9 from kidney cancer at the age of 61. He had been battling the disease since being diagnosed in 2018.
He is best known as the singer behind the anime Saint Seiya theme song, “Pegasus Fantasy”.
DAIDA LAIDA will hold a tribute live for NoB on 9/30, performing songs written by him.
Another legend is gone… Pegasus Fantasy and Saint Seiya, a whole part of my childhood (Sadie has made an excellent cover for this song). RIP Nobuo Yamada.

I never heard of Daida Laida…but besides Make-Up, NoB had a solo carrier as well as some interesting collaborations, e.g. with X-Japan’s Pata in P.A.F. Check his stuff out, it’s worth it.
