Petit Brabancon's 2nd EP - Seven Garbage Born of Hatred

Was that the chorus? No real hook to that song but gotta hear the whole thing.

I also doubt that the covers are AI generated. I’ve seen Instagram tagging various pictures (photos from festivals etc) as AI recently, I think it’s just a glitch.

The clip is giving visualizer/stock videos though.

Supposedly, Adobe is tagging everything made in their software as ai, so when uploaded to Instagram, they check the tag and put the flag. I saw many people complaining about this

Personally, I don’t think they used AI in the covers, but I hate that the waters are getting muddied and this type of shit will get harder to detect

(But this is an conversation for the thread here that I ignore the existence)

More specifically, Adobe will embed a flag in an image file’s metadata if some new functions of its software are used. Instagram will read this flag and if it exists, apply the “made with AI” tag

So, fully Dall-E generated image, copied and pasted into Photoshop to remove the Dall-E “signature” squares, if you use the healing brush or stamp, no “made with AI” tag

However if i photograph a room and there’s a large bug - let’s say it’s crossing between two carpets with different textures, something hard to use the healing brush on - if i use the ‘generative remove’ tool, which convolves new pixels from words a la Dall-E, that’ll be flagged as “made with AI”.

Please correct me if i’m wrong, i don’t work at Adobe or Meta lol but this is my current understanding

So long story short, this tag really just means “adobe’s generative tools have been used”

(also please toss this in the ai thread if it belongs there, i just think it’s a worthwhile distinction to be aware of)

Batman reminds me of ZAN or Byou shin and a bit of six ugly/VULGAR era.

A masterpiece tbh

I know I just made a different Killing Joke comparison yesterday, but this song really does remind me of Killing Joke.

So the cover for BATMAN screams Bauhaus, and the song sounds like Killing Joke. If we get a post-punk/gothic rock era from PB I’m all for it.

Do you have this interview?

Back in 2011 HMV had each member of Dir en grey pick two desert island albums and Kyo’s are the first two.

Secrets of the Beehive is also an excellent choice but I don’t see him bringin any Sylvian to dog band.

DIE’s doesn’t surprise, but Kaoru’s Beatles worship kinda does.

It’s very interesting to me and makes sense with minor mental gymnastics I suppose, considering he was a living Tony Iommi cosplay back in 2011.

Okay, Puchibra synths, sure… Oh shit, that’s an interesting start for them, getting some Psychosocial riff flashbacks. Like, I honestly can see this as a diet Slipknot song (if Corey could growl like Kyo). I like how it doesn’t meander at all and just pushes forward. And then I’m getting Waizatsu flashbacks with those gang vocals. Definitely not a single material at all, but compared to their usual stuff? Pretty different & COMPREHENSIBLE (the more they move away from FETISH sound, the better).

Glad I wasn’t the only one who got slipknot vibes.
Personally, it’s not a track I’ll go back to often. The guitar was interesting and diverse, but that’s all I can really say about it. My favorite stuff from them has still been a their launch singles, and nothing has compared since then in terms of replayability for me.
Still. Looking forward to whatever comes next.

11 posts were split to a new topic: Petit Brabancon - BATMAN

I know I’m super late to this but Insta actually does just slap that label on stuff - I have friends who have uploaded photographs they took or paintings they did and Insta just labeled it as AI with zero way to appeal - it’s a super jank system that is actively going to hurt artists who aren’t using AI

Well it’s better than BATMAN at least. I like how many death growls, or whatever you call them, it has, and that inhale thing at 00:44.
Still, doesn’t really have anything to set it apart from 90% of their discography.
