Love the song and video and if this is what I can expect from them from now on kr at least a while I’m all in.

I was coming here to say the same thing!

So we can eventually expect the full version of BATMAN since there’s no version of this EP with a DVD for the videos to be on?

“Vendetta” is basically “Don’t forget”, but repackaged. However, it being an ender for EP doesn’t give me too much hope for the overall package (and “a humble border” is still the best song out of it for me).
Oh, and I was expecting for Captain Jack Sparrow to shoot through that box.

Miya composition? This sounds like a hold over from some 20 year old MUCC studio sessions

You perfectly described why this band doesn’t excite me.

All those flickering lights on the MV gave me a headache

Eh, it’s a dogband song

I bet they are amazing live, but on record idk

I like it. Nice variety of tempo and riffs going on, all in a concise three minute package. Will it have staying power? We’ll see.

Also, I don’t give Yukihiro enough credit.

Sucks they got stranded in a shipping container in the middle of the sea and blew up though.

That’s what I’m here for, I was waiting for the full release of the ep, but I’ll give vendetta a spin now

Another song without a melodic chorus and just screams? Thats always album fillers imo. This band really might not be for me, but then Kodou was so good. Hmm
Also you can hear load chunks of MUCC in there in the instrumentals.

Think this common dog band trait (Miya composes, Kyo writes lyrics) is already taken for granted - this is Miya’s pet project in a way no matter how much Kyo tries to credit himself and Yukihiro for coming up with our beloved dog band.

My issue as well. The songs have potential but the vocal approach truns me off. If Kyo sang more and leaned into the melody it would be much better imo.

Supposedly Miya only wrote three of the songs on the EP. We’ve already heard two of them.

BARKS ( :dog: ) interviews are out: Kyoseph | Miya | Takamatsu | antz | yukihiro

Each one is relatively brief, but here are some highlights I picked up on:

  • Kyo wants this EP to emulate the sensory experience of a live show and avoids focusing on vocal melodies.
  • Miya echoes that the aggressiveness of this release is inspired by their live shows, especially since the pandemic made them play small concert halls.
  • Takamatsu found their show with ROTTENGRAFFTY meaningful and praises Miya a lot.
  • antz says that his two songs (dub driving and Mickey) reflect his 90s and post-punk influences.
  • Yukihiro focuses on drums mostly and considers a humble border to be industrial-influenced.

Kyo is to blame then, OK, got that

This is stupid. Just write good songs.
If he wants it to sound ‘live’, record the damn thing live.

vendetta kinda goes in, but it sounds like a product of miya trying to revive the success of mucc’s formative (and probably best years sales-wise) bc. kyo does this kind of growly, aggressive grunting stuff on pretty much every deg album, and it only stands out for the rest of a band as a turn towards darker, harder direction.

that video is not for the weak though, I had to look away at some point. too much flashing.

Well, at least Kyo is putting this energy on dogband and not on DeG or Sukekiyo. It truly is Adidas Kei exorcized soul

Vendetta was very forgettable for me, and Batman wasn’t too interesting but it did grab me a little more.
I still maintaine that the best place to listen to dog band is in my car while I’m going down the highway.

I am usually more optimistic about music releases, but this one doesn’t make me too excited. Maybe the Antz tracks will be more up my alley.
