I loved the first first album of ANGELO, and the one album with the lotus on the cover was my favorite. After that… i couldnt get on with it

Angelo is really redundant, i never got hooked by their music. The complete opposite of Pierrot. Aiji and Jun were fundamental to the band sound.

they were releasing way way too much and completely dropped releasing singles (b-side content in VK often times was the most fun/different from the album records), a late angelo album often gave about 2 single tracks worth of good music, and lots of loud, screaming-driven filler + a c&p slow closer.

Kirito has a similar problem with his 2nd solo album after they suspended activities.

The problem with this kind of band like Angelo, or Kirito solo ( I would also include mucc ).
They seems to have a very tight schedule. I don’t know if they want it, of if they are force to do it. And this tight schedule makes them create too many songs. I understand they have to earn money, so in some way, I don’t blame them, and i still respect what they did.

Pierrot broke this rule. There was a kind of chemistry between them, that cannot be explain. Which makes them difficult to release bad songs, even there most generic songs got something.

I would also add that in Pierrot, there was a strong attention to the sound. I feel like they really think of the sound. For exemple ’ Heaven ’ form the final Line of 3 albums. This album has a brighter direction in terms of composition, and I like that they decided to make the overall sound brighter too. I mean, always strong decisions. No in-between.

And the same goes for lynch. (or at least they USED to release an album a year, that’s slowed down now)

The whole multi-release theme of FINALE (Apocalypse), Private Enemy (Hell), and Heaven (Heaven) is just something you rarely see these days. All those albums are so good in different ways.

Side note: I love how PIERROT started their major career with FINALE and ended it with HELLO (Ignoring Pandora no Hako of course)

Off topic but I hope Rouage releases their music on digital platforms too.

pierrot had different sound producers; even freeze, their blandest album for many reasons, had sound producing by Seiji Kameda, finale was produced by shinobu narita, who worked with other bands of the 2000s (i.e. despairs ray), private enemy and a lot of their singles were produced by Tatsuya Nishiwaki, there was another producer who passed away that I don’t remember, who joined them around the time they started getting anime OP gigs

angelo went self-produced route, and is mostly kirito’s brainchild, and, honestly, looking at how mediocre LmC have been since their inception, I really think there’s some magic happening with major label producing if they see enough potential to invest in a band. being a part of 90s VK boom helped them too.

Indeed, their success is a combination of many factors. The impact of those producers is very obvious.

At the begin of Angelo, I think they still had a bit of budget, because I can feel some rest of Pierrot. Like the song ‘Dark snow’ is definitely a song that would fit Pierrot too.

Another detail, when Karyu joined the band, they quickly decided to use a low tuning, I think Drop C. It doesn’t really fit Kirito voice for me. The standard tuning or D# is perfect for him.
