Nice. I’ve never listened to them much (they were just before my time of getting into VK), but I love Angelo and Kirito’s recent solo releases, so I’ll check them out.
private enemy is probably their consistently best album, but they have brilliant moments on finale (icaross is epic), celluloid is short but solid (鬼と桜 is a work of art, and coming from 1997 release… like they just don’t do anything like that anymore tbh); dictators circus pulls a sampler of different eras they went through.
freeze is their most angelo-sounding album, and they disbanded after releasing hello, which is okay, but nothing you haven’t heard from kirito solo.
I’m surprised, I didn’t know they released it as Face B. When I watched the live dvd, I was thinking they played it so well. This is a must to listen to.
(…so it also means there is a way to have it as a FLAC…)
I love every single one of their albums in different ways. I don’t think they ever put anything bad out. Even FREEZE has it’s own atmosphere and is beautiful in it’s own way.
Do yourself a favour and do it. PIERROT has a binge-able backlog of quality music. If you like KIRITO and Angelo, you will love them just as much, if not more.
You make a point. I think the beauty of this project is that every albums got something. Of course, it’s possible to argument that some are better than others. But if we look at the big picture, they were really consistant. They didnt break the magic.
On the opposite side, Angelo took too much albums to finally decide to do a break. They just have too many similar songs.
Agree 100%. I learned to appreciate Angelo in the later years, but always found the songwriting to be too generic, and the songs too similar. Whereas PIERROT were never afraid to experiment, and almost all of their songs are memorable.
I see their albums as being separated into different eras of sound.
