I started paying for YouTube Premium so I could use the download feature when I didn’t have Internet at home. Then by the time I had Internet at home, YouTube was basically unusable unless you stayed ahead of the curve on what AdBlocker would get stomped out next. I’d also grown used to YouTube Music at this point, so I’m basically stuck with it unless I decide to completely stop using the platform.

Spotify. Feels comfy for my local needs + most of my friends have it, so it’s easier to share stuff.
I also have hacked Youtube Vanced which makes YouTube Music redundant.

Free Spoopify, paired with offline musicolet

And once in a while I might take a dip to listen via good old YouTube

not even in a judging way but what is actually the benefit of using three different music streaming sites @CAT5? like I am not aware that there are enough “apple originals” to stay on different music streaming sites at the same time. and I mean those streaming sites also cost money

Gaht dayummmmmm my guy!!! What kinda internet-Karen-ass shenanigans is this??? I don’t mind you asking, but goddamn this feels like an assault!!!

But forreal tho - to answer your question. I think it just depends on your situation. For instance, I only used Apple Music because I wanted to share music with a friend who uses it, and figured i’d check out their free-trial while I’m at it. Imma cancel, cuz I have no use for it.

As for the others: I used to use Google Music when that was a thing - and that eventually became Youtube Music. It’s handy for me because I can upload my own music and stream it anywhere. Plus I tend to watch a lot of youtube, so a subscription works out.

Spotify is also convenient for me for a plethora of reasons. I don’t have time to keep up with music like I used to, so it’s a big aid in that. And in the times when I am able to explore new music, it massively expedites the process. Most importantly tho - I also have a family, and between my wife and I alone - we listen to A LOT of music - so providing multiple options for everyone has only been a boon to our lives.

Go on, Blossom. CALL HIM OUT :face_with_steam_from_nose:

I’m a ronin atm. I gave up spotify bc adding a chat to the app was the last straw tbh, tried Tidal and now I’m on Qobuz. Both have excellent quality but a poor library if you’re into asian music and video game soundtracks. YT music is next.
