I haaaaaaaaaaate when a song doesn’t have a proper end, and the outro is just an fade out.
I find it so damn lazy. Finish fhe song, cowards. If I wanted the volume turned down, I would do it myself.

Movie studios can hardly be convinced to release physical 4K media. I’d be surprised if any act adopted the format for concert films, VK or otherwise. The only one I’m currently aware of on 4K is Stop Making Sense, which is like the concert movie.
You’re 100% right that DVDs need to be put out of their misery though. I’m p sure they’re still the best-selling video format, but it would be for the greater good.

Sadie singer sounds like Dir but I like Sadie much more. Sadie singer is a tank even in their latest shows and a lot more of their riffs are melancholy-upbeat-beautifulness. CLASSIC Dir is also very different than the new Dir which reminds me of Tool (zZz)..
I find like no good jrock/vk songs recently, like not even one.
I am checking out the bands that are supposed to be popular but everything is just crap.
Is this a hot take? Or am I not alone about this?

I also find it much harder nowadays compared to when I started listening to VK back in the early 2000’s to find new bands and songs that I really like. Most of the new popular bands sound pretty generic to me.
The biggest exception that comes to my mind is Fukuro.

Yeah where are all the good songs?! I keep checking out new bands and stuff but its really rough recently. I look forward to the Matenrou Opera single but damn there used to come good stuff all the time say 10 years ago. If it wasn’t for a few bands that you can count on your fingers the scene is more or less dead… coming from someone who has been here for a loong time. I am sure its the same for you. Of course I would be more excited if the big players like DeG, Gazette etc announced new releases but… nothing. Silence….

No its fine but what do you think yourself? Do you find many new good vk/jrock songs recently? I mean REALLY good songs.
I think some of us are just… Old and tired of new stuff, that’s why we don’t like new bands.

if we are talking about the stuff which new bands release, then tbh i cant think of any😅. but it might be because of my personal tastes, as I’m into the 80~00s vk. im not saying that “all of the neo bands are bad”, i enjoy a lot of them, but barely anyone leaves that “impression” on me anymore.

I agree. I have begun BACK TRACKING AND FINDING GLORIOUS BANDS THAT DESERVED MORE ATTENTION THAN THEY CURRENTLY DO.

I am cool with DVDs going away if you can give me glorious high-fidelity uncompressed audio/visual online more easily. The costs of storage for a 40GB video recording online for years needs to get better!!! DVDs you can print that perfection and have it there. LONG LIVE 4K BLURAY!!!
