Random thoughts thread

boi what the hell

It’s live

I really like these more casual MVs. BE:FIRST’s strongest aspect has always been their group chemistry, and you can see it so clearly in this one.

Sena will never slay as hard as Amundsen and de Gerlache managed to do here

Truly random thought just now.

If a tanbi-kei band wore giant colorful suits with strange antennas… would they be called “Tele-tanbis”?

Ahem…

The people criticizing the Sesame Beginnings DVD series with “Kids under 2 shouldn’t be having TV as a babysitter”, did you even watch the DVD?? It makes it explicitly clear you’re supposed to watch it with the child and emulate the child-guardian interactions displayed as you do. The entire DVD series is just babies interacting and singing with their caretakers, any child would lose interest if the guardian isn’t with there to do the activities. This DVD isn’t meant to be watched like a show, it’s meant to be an accompaniment to YOUR parenting efforts. Like jeez, don’t act like a smart ass if you can’t understand basic instructions let alone read between the lines…

Ok thank u for coming to my TED talk

ALSO P.S, BABY ELMO IS FUCKING CUTE, STFU

I don’t dig Jiluka but I stan Sena merely for how wild his twitter interactions are. singlehandedly popularizing vk among teens … slay

me: hey wwyd in my place I’m seemingly unable to pass a job interview, need money to make ends meet, asocial autistic poor small family many illnesses I just want A Job that I can endure everyday to give my best at?
internet stranger: well in your place I’d go after officializing your autism diagnosis first
me: sounds great, thanks schedules doctor hello doctor! this neuropsychologist tested me for months and at last said I am autistic …
doctor: so what do you want?
me: huh? I’m autistic idk what YOU are supposed to do with that. I want to keep a job.
doctor: {you don’t seem autistic to me} OR {maybe seek another evaluation} OR {have you tried therapy yet} OR {the other doctor who told you off shouldn’t have} OR {come back later and maybe I will do something about it} OR {scolds to make me scared as if it wasn’t my right to pay for medical consultation and get it}
me: oh. ok. thx?

repeat for like 4 years at this point i am tired :frowning: I never wanted to be like "hey I deserve a job’ in this economy but it gets tiring quickly when your ONE plan in life was just being a normal working adult and it isn’t even close to go well.

Elmo has Kote vocals. Discuss.

nothing to discuss, just truth

vk thought of the day: was listening to Shazna - Koibito and thinking “wow if a local country duo covered this I’m 100% sure 1) nobody would guess it’s originally jrock 2) maybe it’d get radio famous 3) and then the vkies online would talk about how much they hate it”

Don’t get me wrong the song is a banger but I’m not sure anyone else in the world likes both Shazna and brazilian ‘country’ music other than me lmao :frowning:

I’m taking your quote to this thread because I think it might get pretty off-topic in the original one soon.

I weren’t surprised.
Since JRO is the only community of that kind for Japanese music it would make sense to me, if some bands or band members that at least do understand English come here. All it takes will be searching Google, I guess. If bands are curious about perception abroad they might exactly do this and … get here.

With how criticism on newly released music partly gets phrased here I sometimes wonder how many bands even do plan to care on people abroad. Especially when taking the cultural differences into consideration. In like, I guess from a western standpoint we often are way more frank.

That’s just a thought I had more than once when seeing people’s opinions that to me often sound more like facts than opinions. I know it’s not meant like this and I’ve also seen some people emphasizing it’s their opinion. But I also do know the side of creating something.
With how often people not just find music not interesting, not to their liking but frankly say there wasn’t any effort put into, there wasn’t any … I’m lacking the perfect word, something like it doesn’t make sense, there’s no real idea behind the song, the lyrics, the music so it shows in being boring, something along that line … and I’m like, yeah, that’s how it seems to you. But in truth we never can know what the person who wrote the music, who wrote the lyrics had in mind, what they were aiming for and all this. Maybe what resulted out of it was exactly what it should turn out like for whatever reason. Or it was what they could make out of it at that time and would be different at some other point in the future due to evolvement. If seeing comments as frank and as harsh that sound more like facts than opinion and as if only this one existed and nothing beyond … I don’t think I would want to put much energy into that part of people. By which I don’t want to say that people aren’t allowed to criticize. But I think it’s a matter of how things get worded. I sometimes miss some level of respect.

I don’t want to blame anyone by this though. It’s really just thoughts I’ve had have on my mind for a while. And by that quote these came up once again.

It’s not the first time I’ve been “job-ghosted” in Germany

This is proof that punctuality no longer exists in Germany. Especially in the corporate world.

Yeah, JRO pops up pretty fast if you search for something vk related in english. And it’s probably relativly hard to resist the urge to google your band. Saw a smaller band joking on their about their vk.gy profile missing most of their members. It’s a bit diffrent because you can browse it in japanese as well. But they DO look up themselves.

I also feel like critic here can come of pretty harsh. Funnily I got into Kizu because there was a lot of critic in one thread and I thought “that must mean they slay!”. And they do :joy:

Maybe we all need a challange to write something nice in the artist thread of our faves.

JRO’s top visitors are from the US and Japan respectively. No surprise for the US because we are an international J-rock community, but looks like we have a number of guests from Japan lurking on us considering not so many of us who have JRO accounts are from Japan.

I feel like Yoshiki would make phone wallpapers of him/ X Japan and charge people a dollar for each one.

Doesn’t that also included VPN which doesn’t necessarily mean people really are in/from Japan even though it gets shown like that?

That sounds nice.
But I’m not one racking my brain for something positive, if there’s more on the negative side (I rather tend to not say anything at all, even though I do that out of a lot of reasons). But if one ain’t happy that’s perfectly fine. I just wish for a more respectful way of saying this.

Yes, it includes VPN users, but usually most visitors aren’t using a VPN. And Japan is still the 2nd largest country on here.

They don’t need to search it up even
If they have a Twitter and a new release, they will get tagged on posts.

And yes I have refrained from posting new releases here and there on times, when I saw that the comments got too negative :person_shrugging:

And for Nazare in special, yes, Issei knows we exist, I asked him twice for an interview and he left me on seen.
Welp, who doesn’t want, can’t get forced to want, right?
