GIMME MY SWEET DOSE OF CHRONOS ALREADY
ITS BEEN 6 YEARS.. KATANA ZERO MY LOVE
Tomorrow’s my last day in Tokyo! I’ve had fun, the weather’s been great and I had to buy several vacuum sealed bags to make sure all my clothes fit into my suitcase (should’ve taken a bigger one to begin with )
Any suggestions on what to do on my final day?
I’ve been feeling a bit of a pressure to “reinvent” myself while I’ve been here. Most of my wardrobe consists of band Ts and sweatpants (all black of course) and there’s been a little voice in the back of my head saying I need to stop being boring and buy a ton of new clothes since this’ll be the only chance I’ll ever get to buy stuff that’s currently being sold here. And while I’d love to be a person who wears something other than black, it just always ends up being a safe option I did buy 2 light blue sweaters/hoodies and a light gray t-shirt, I guess that’s a start.
My favorite thing to do here (besides shopping and stuff) is probably karaoke, if you’re into that.
I totally get what you mean with the pressure to reinvent yourself… Everyone else here looks so fashionable. My wardrobe is also just black tees and pants… I want to be the kind of person who dresses up to go to the store, but I just can’t be bothered to do that on a daily basis… I just want to be done getting ready and out of the door as fast as possible. Maybe I should get rid of my “boring” wardrobe and only have interesting pieces?
There is more than just a little voice in my head that is saying that several times a day
Most of the time I don’t obey, but often enough to have my own room just for clothes, shoes, etc.
But I do have quite a range regarding styles, colors and different items in general in my clothing Therefore, every piece has it’s raison d’être.
I’ve been reminding myself that I’m gonna go back to my normal life (working at a warehouse and not having a social life) to keep my impulse buys to a minimum I did purge a third of my band tees last year and that did nothing to my day to day habits, I just wear the ones that are left… I think I’ll go out to Shibuya to try to find a summer-y dress of some sort. And I’ll do a final Uniqlo sweep, it’s so annoying that we don’t have one in Finland. I can stuff one or two non-bulky items in my carry on bag.
See this is the type of person I’d like to be, but when push comes to shove I get lazy and don’t feel like putting in effort
Maybe because of this you don’t have enough reason for having different clothes?
I have such a wide range because I feel like my life and preferences requires that. For example, I would not want to wear the same clothing I wear at work (more “tamed” and normal) when I go out to Goth parties. When meeting friends, I usually wear something in between work and goth party items.
For sports, I obviously also need different clothes. Cosy, wide cut clothes for just hanging out at home, etc.
And I have a whole different “clothing persona” in summer
late af update but i secured an apartment and i’m set to move next week! can’t wait to fucking move already
Me, daily lolita, is getting ready within few minutes, and I need more time for makeup and hair😹
Same, can’t say I was surprised but it’s really signaled the end of an era. Holo has so many amazing talents so I hope the perception of all these graduations doesn’t detract too much from their hard work.
Definitely yes, but unfortunately I have a very limited social battery
I’ll have to try to get some sort of weekend routine/outing in my schedule and see if that would inspire me to dress up every once in a while. Like if I went to the movies or something.
I work from home so i don’t really have a reason to dress up
That’s make sense!
"But he made graduation "
Lmao who cares
Don’t know where else to post this, but here’s an interesting article by Japanese band maya ongaku about touring costs.
They say touring the US costs them twice as much than touring Europe:
"As mentioned earlier, we pay for our own flights—but the truth is, we pay for everything. It’s a terrifying reality. The 2023 Europe tour cost us around 1.8 million yen (approximately $12,000) in total, and that entire amount came out of the band’s pocket. Scary, right?
Here’s a rough breakdown of the expenses:
Flights: ¥450,000 (approx. $3,000)
Van rental and fuel: ¥500,000 (approx. $3,300)
Tour manager: ¥350,000 (approx. $2,300)
Gear rental: ¥60,000 (approx. $400)
Merch production: ¥250,000 (approx. $1,700)
Miscellaneous (like accommodations on days off): ¥200,000 (approx. $1,300)
Let’s start with the biggest difference: visas. Performing abroad and earning foreign currency usually requires a visa, and compared to Europe, U.S. visa costs are absurdly high—not to mention the application process is a nightmare. Without recommendations and a solid track record, you probably can’t even get one.
For this tour, our visa costs came to about ¥1,000,000 (approx. $6,700) for the three of us. That’s already more than half the total cost of the Europe tour—just for permission to enter the country and play shows. I’d rather not even think about it.
On top of that, in the U.S., even on show days, venues don’t typically provide meals or accommodations. In Europe, once we were booked, we could at least survive day-to-day. In America, we’d starve. So we have to book hotels and buy our own food every single day. For a long tour, this quickly becomes financially draining. Combine that with the current weak yen and rising prices in the U.S., and things get even tougher.
So what’s the grand total for this American tour?
A whopping ¥3.7 million (approx. $24,600)."
Well, I can’t say that I’m surprised by that.
Basically, touring in the US just isn’t doable or profitable. So yeah, VK fans always get the short end of the stick. And honestly… Other genres are gonna feel the burn soon too.
