Ever since thier old drummer left they been going deeper into the bad side of the weird pop metal screaming elements. They fell off for me, hopefully they come back in a good way soon.
I can’t tell if they’re overworked and need a break or they just don’t have it in them to evolve, but I’m really bored. They were incredible when I saw them live, and should they tour Europe or play in Japan when I’ll get there I’ll go for sure, but release wise, I think that’s it for me
mm am I the only one who actually dig it ? I like seeing Ryoga using his voice in a more melodic way. the issue here is that this kind of release doesn’t bring anything new to the scene which is problematic because we literally have a Sadie member and an Ex Born…
Those pretty *ss costumes are such a waste for such a generic MV lol
Honestly i expected this single to be worse based on the look. I expect full blown auto tuned robotic like vocals. We got a scream and some of the typical Razor sound. Its a step in the right direction hopefully the b-sides give us more uniqueness
As I don’t tend to go back to the first post every time I open a thread but only look at the newest one, I didn’t see. A mod can delete them if necessary.
Not really memorable but listenable, without more. They have accustomed us to better but since GRAVITY EMOTION that i really appreciated, i didn’t hear anything particularly remarkable from them.
Oh man… Full disclaimer I’m a Razor stan. This isn’t very innovative for them but I don’t mind that haha. With the look they debuted, I expected something more avant garde. Overall it’s not a bad song, probably a 7ish/10. Highly anticipating the B-sides. I make it a habit to learn all of Razor’s songs on guitar and bass, so from that perspective I do appreciate the instrumentals. IZA is doing his thing on the bass and Nikky’s drumming is solid as always. The chord progressions on rhythm guitar are decent (though Kouryu’s guitar work in My Bacteria Heat Island was much more interesting/heavier - I feel like he contributes a lot more to the B-side composition) and Tsurugi definitely had some fun with his pedals on lead.
Ryoga’s vocals feel like standard Razor - which I feel is the safest play for a Razor single. I’m not really sure where they stand among VK bands (are they considered Major/Mainstream?) in Japan but to me it feels like they’ve found a niche that’s (moderately?) successful and are staying within that pocket. The b-sides allow for more experimentation, but from a singles perspective it seems like they’ve found a formula that they don’t want to deviate from.
Honestly, if that’s what pays the bills for them, I won’t hate haha But knowing how good the music was from the bands each member came from, they’re capable of composing music that’s much more interesting that leaves an impression. I’m glad they’ve made it to their 15th single release (hopefully many more still left) but I think there’s a creativity price they’re paying for their longevity. Excited to hear the B-sides.
