REDЯUM 2025-04-26 livestream + two new compilation albums "abstract area" + "memoria del silencio"

REDЯUM performed their first one-man live on April 26, 2025. It was their first show since 2016 and one of the few shows they’ve played since they stopped actively as a band on April 25, 2009.

The gig sold out and the livestream can be purchased and viewed via twitcasting:

There were some technical difficulties in the stream and Circles and namida have distorted audio.

They performed two new songs 残月 (zangetsu) and ダル•セーニョ (Dal segno) which have currently not been recorded.

The band’s first two releases were produced by Sugizo and released on his Embryo label in 1999/2000. REDЯUM then released a series of albums throughout the 2000s that were mainly sold at their lives or directly from their website. Most of those releases were only available in limited amounts at the time and were never repressed after selling out. Once the band ended activities in 2009, their website was shutdown and ordering these CDs became impossible except in the secondary market.

To coincide with this long awaited one-man (a 25th anniversary live in 2020 was cancelled due to COVID shutting down everything), 2 CDs have been released featuring many of those live-only / mail-order releases. Both discs have been remastered by longtime producer MOG (Music of Gentlemen) who effectively became the band’s 5th member starting with his work on 2001’s Cronenberg.
Both albums will be available for sale online eventually for 3000yen each:

「abstract area -CRONENBERG+4-」

「memoria del silencio -RARE TRACKS-」

Fantastic band, always good to see news about them.

Yes, they’re great and I wish they had gotten more popular but their style of music is very niche and it’s good that they never really changed drastically to try to become more mainstream.

Legendary guitarist Masami Tsuchiya was at the show yesterday and gave praise to the band saying how they should be more popular too. Hopefully that will bring in some new fans considering his status and following:

And despite the seemingly difficult nature of getting their music, Kazi (drummer / band-leader) has always been on top of his social media and communications with the fans. He’s almost been daily blogging since the early 00s and has shared his e-mail to tell people to just contact him. I have e-mailed him through the years and he would sometimes send me (digital and physical) things when I asked. I need to do that again to see if I can order the new remaster compilations.
