wow condolences to all, for i have been Sumonded, now i have to make a long ass post

first of all lol if u think i wont sit here and read this post every time i see it, just lol . i love it.
ok second i will need u to correct the pronunciation on a very few of these titles,
and third, wtf u mean u dont read kanji apparently??? how the hell do u know ANY of this, this is the kanji band. d-dont answer that, im already sweating thinking about it.

a LOT of 陰陽座 titles are references to something that just make me have to find out the story behind them... in the past a language exchange w/japanese person (i am not japanese) got to the point of them almost outright saying "look i am not able to explain Buddhism in detail to you," and you know what. fair. this was before google knew everything, it was rough.

Insomnia put to good use! I spent a lot of time doing exactly what you said: looking up a word and diving into the story behind it. I was going to write little liner notes for each title but by the time I got halfway through 鬼哭転生 I thought it would be better to hyperlink to the stories instead. I spent a lot of time on both English and especially Japanese wikipedia diving into ancient Japanese youkai, myths, legendary figures, Buddhism, Shintoism. Started realizing it’s not always “what” but “who” and “when” and “where”. It was wild, I think I went to bed around 4am? I made some corrections here and there and also referenced a defunct website to polish up a few translations, but I seriously can’t read any of it :pray:
