Same here…
Well, I’ll give you all the rundown on each of the members.
The drummer Shiyu is the least likely to retire from music, he’s arguably the most talented member per his instrument and stated in the breakup message that he still intends to pursue higher and higher in music.
He’s always been a support member for many bands, it’s so rare that he actually became an official band member for a band, but that just speaks for how good Rides In ReVellion’s music really is.
Shiyu does however, have a good chance to retire from visual kei. These past few years have been the first time he played for visual kei bands, and became a visual kei artist only last year. His solo act music features collabs with non-vkei artists, so we’ll see about that.
TaJI the lead guitarist and leader of the band is also one of the least likely members to retire from music, especially not visual kei.
We have the impression that TaJI comes from a wealthy family, given that he mentions having been gifted expensive guitars and other sorts of gifts from his family since a young age. Fans have the impression that he’s never had to work part-time or anything.
(This does check out with him having all the free-time to be the main composer of the band, as well as even mixing and mastering the songs himself, for a long time.)
He’s the member that was originally the most visual kei orientated, and even got other members such as bassist Nagisa into the oldie VK bands he loves.
Vocalist Kuro,
Bassist Nagisa,
Guitarist Tsubaki,
are all tossups for me.
Tsubaki has had depressing episodes he’s wrote about in the past, and this is always reflected in the edgy music he composes for the band.
He has gone back and forth in his mind between whether to continue as a visual kei band member or not in the past too, so it’s very uncertain.
Nagisa seems like the member who most loves the aesthetic of visual kei the most, and has had a desire to play and compose music very well, in order to prove wrong the rude things that have been said him in the past about pursuing music.
But for some reason, I get the vibe that Nagisa is the one closest to being okay with just living a normal life, just like his brother, who’s already married and tied down with a daughter.
Kuro is just like the first two members I mentioned, he lives and breathes music. He’s TaJI’s childhood friend since they were still in high school, over a decade ago. They were even in a previous visual kei band together named “Black September”, before all this.
They met over a band recruitment website, and Kuro’s profile message was something like “I’m so pumped to succeed in a band that I’m even willing to drop out of school for it!”
But over the past year, shortly after Perfect Blue released, Kuro’s throat condition had not been in… perfect condition, to say the least. There were multiple times this year where they had to do shows without Kuro, and TaJI literally took up the role as vocalist and played guitar at the same time.
I still wonder if these instances created hits to this band’s morale, and ultimately led to this exact breakup.
Anyway, after this announcement Kuro has stated himself he’s unsure whether to continue with music.
To top it all off, just the other week Kuro wrote a very long Instagram Story in the middle of the night of how he couldn’t sleep, and didn’t want to wake up at 6AM just to wear makeup. This Story was so strange it even shocked his own band members, with Shiyu reposting it and baffled about it.
Kuro retiring would be the most dissappointing thing of all, for me. He’s the MOST important reason Rides In ReVellion stands out with excellence to me. I don’t care if TaJI continues making stellar compositions, it means nothing if just another garbage vkei singer’s vocals are slobbered on top of them.
Not having Shiyu’s super technical drums to sprinkle into the songs would be a bit of a bummer, but as long as Kuro and TaJI stay together for a future band, I’ll be more than happy.

Seriously, I refuse to believe these 2 who are like brothers, having known each other for so long and have even written a song about their unconditional love for each other (FALLING STAR) could have a “gap in the future” between them. I want to believe that that gap has to be from the other members.
