Yeah, just using the synth vocals like every other producer has done would’ve been fine.
What I am noticing with this AI discourse is like they are here to “make things easier” or to solve problems that already have an actual alternative. They are trying to cut all creative process and make it look innovative and productive. So, as you pointed out, i see no major gain in pass through AI the synths, and given that Ryo has a lot of specialized gear and software that may have similar or more interesting results.
But that’s me.
He mad
Synthesizer V lets me shape intention with precision.
SUNO expands the texture of emotion.
I could have sung it myself.
But I refused to let the music be constrained by my vocal range or by the key.
So I chose this form.
It’s no different from programming drums.
No different from sequencing bass.
No different from designing synths.
The soul of the song is built through the world I construct.
To me, Synthesizer V and SUNO are simply instruments of voice.
They are not the main character.
I am the one designing it.
I did some basic research on Synthesizer V. It’s pretty much the same shit them vocaloid folk use? Based off this post and the clip of him producing…he just used SUNO to “polish” the vocals.
Im not sorry but while the song is mid, this is not worth causing such a stink over.
I wonder what happened, because it feels like something happened. He tweets quite frequently since the first announcement, but it’s all pretty much random thoughts and girugamesh lore. The way he phrases it feels very formal/passive aggressive too.
From today:
I was able to take on this project because my older brother encouraged me.
and
Good morning.
I’m a new artist.
I’ll be strumming my guitar again today.
and
When we first started the band, we just went ahead blindly without a clear musical style.
It felt like we were just killing slimes at level 1.
But now it’s different.
It feels more like we’ve maxed out our level once,
and are starting a new game plus.
and
In order to carry out this project,
I dropped the “Я” that I had been using for 22 years.
Because it doesn’t show up in searches.
Stronger than my convictions was Google.
Idk, maybe he didn’t expect this response from the release.
He has done a lot of successful work on stage and in the studio that for him this came up as natural next step, to even changing his stage name to favour the algorithm.
And now that he has found the feedback and the general feeling and conversation about AI, he is just reflecting on that.
Interactions and reactions on social media doesn’t work the same as 2010.
Next song will be out on March 13th
