I was at the concert and then watched the stream to compare my feelings and assumptions.
Live concert was fun, guitars were kinda a mess. Interestingly enough, when watching the livestream you could clearly hear how Mao misses high notes — he simply cannot hit them. But when live, it seemed that he was perfect. And, obviously, I could hear all the guitars on the livestream, which was a pleasure for me.
Their merch was of relatively high quality — i have a shirt with Dimlim and Hunan Error, and they are objectively bad. Sadie’s one is pleasent.
Overall, it was a fun gig, cool to see the guys back.

if he is struggling on some of those old songs that could explain why the vocals were so drastically changed in some of the songs on the revival album. vocals are the weakest part of the new remakes
The most obvious example is Ice Romancer — it’s painful to listen to the chorus. Falsetto is all over the place as well.

I disagree, I think Mao sounds great in the re-recordings.
Live I will agree, he seemed to be struggling with the high notes—Particularly in the first few songs. Seemed to find his groove as the set went on.

like all the raw emotion from the song is gone
this kind of production don’t help for raw emotions. It’s kind of opposite the way it was done. Seems like they just do this as a trend.

That’s fair. I’m not happy that the rap-scream part was removed and replaced with spoken word in a holy terrors either (my favorite part)

It’s hilarious to me they’re not playing anything (and probably won’t play anything) from the vast majority of their discography.
Songs from Cold Blood, GANGSTA, Madrigal de Maria, The Black Diamonds, Red Line, and Gain are missing entirely.
I suspect it’s because they want to pretend those albums don’t exist. Sadie began such a massive decline after Master of Romance. Every release got progressively worse.

they do have a few good songs here and there but yeah it was mostly a forgettable mess after Master of Romance
Although they did go out with a banger with possibly one of their best songs in a long time with Voyage (specially after the mess that GANGSTA was)

So to clarify. All those releases after the Master of Romance album were bad??? I mean everyone has their own opinion and I respect it but I feel like some of Sadie’s best works came out of releases like: Cold Blood, Gain, cry more, redline and black diamonds. Some weren’t perfect but a lot in my opinion was pretty good stuff.
For me where I fell off with Sadie was the gangsta release honestly and I’m sure most would agree. I hope they honestly cover more songs from the releases I mentioned.
