Me too. I think the official pronunciation is ‘Sah-dee’, but that sounds stupid to me

they list it as サディ(so ‘sah-dee’ for anyone who doesnt know katakana) but i think kana are kinda low-res when considering bands using concepts from outside the japanese syllabary for their names
iirc they had the word sad, like 
and gave it the diminutive suffix, so -ie
like a little sad; Vinushka before Ouroborus lol
so maybe technically it’s meant to be said “saddy”? rhymes w/ let me get ur addy?
but 100% i’m still calling them Sadie like the english name lol sounds best to my english-speaking ears

Since they wanted to be Dir en Grey so badly, I assume they named themselves after La:sadie’s (proto-Diru without Toshiya). And I guess La:Sadie’s is supposed to sound french and maybe comes from sadism, which is named after the french Marquis de Sade. Pretty sure they have no clue what their band name means and made something up when they were ask.
I always pronouced it like it is written in katakana and wouldn’t know who you were talking about if you pronouced it english 
but I am german and our vocal pronouciation is basically the same as the japanese one.
サディ is more like Sa-di
idk if this is accurate (and if they even were aware of la sadies? numetal vk babies admit to copying slipknot and Deg, but rarely go earlier) but they were a part of a wave of host-adjacent bands named after victorian-ish damsel names literally out of a dictionary i.e. karen/カレン
followed by likes of dolly, alice nine, gretchen, m̶e̶:̶L̶a̶n̶i̶a̶, billy/billie? - i’ve seen this spelling - ビリー, etc. which seemingly vanished for a good decade until 2018 revival of host/idol cross-over bands brought likes of roselia, etc.;
sadie managed to have the longevity and really good sales that the others in the scene at that time did not have.

It’s been documented in interviews that Sadie’s name comes from the English ‘sad’ ie. ‘sadness’ as it reflects Mao’s state of mind when the band was formed. Thus the correct pronunciation is, as per the original katakana, ‘sad-ee’.
