Sheena Ringo new single 『芒に月』 announced

Apparently the international title is “La Velada Legendaria” (“The Legendary Evening” in Spanish).

Ringo Sheena’s New Single “Miscanthus and the Moon” to Be Released on June 25

Last year, Ringo Sheena held her first arena tour in six years, titled Ringo Expo ’24 – Economic Recovery. The tour featured a special large-scale stage unique to “Ringo Expo,” combining a band and full orchestra. During a highlight moment in the main performance, she debuted a new song, “Miscanthus and the Moon.” In response to growing demand from fans for its release immediately after the tour, it has now been officially decided that the song will be released as a CD single on June 25.

The track originates from a song by APPA, a band led by keyboardist Ichiyo Izawa—Sheena’s long-time collaborator from Tokyo Jihen and a member of the tour ensemble. It has been newly reworked with lyrics by Ringo Sheena, composition by Ichiyo Izawa, and arrangement by Yoichi Murata.

The single includes:

  • A newly recorded studio version of “Miscanthus and the Moon”
  • A B-side titled “Pine and Crane”, with lyrics by Ringo Sheena and both music and arrangement by Ichiyo Izawa.

Additionally, “Miscanthus and the Moon” has been chosen as the theme song for the upcoming NHK Saturday drama I Want to Die Alone, starring Haruka Ayase, premiering on June 21 (Saturday).

Ringo Sheena’s new single Miscanthus and the Moon will be released on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Don’t miss it!
