You know I am poor, I take what I get, and if that is the speakers of my phone, it’s the speaker’s of my phone

Like I love AirPods but I’ll admit they’re not on the level or IEMs and makes Apple Music pointless without them bur it’s about ease and convenience.

Most of my listening is done via wired IEMS, and I carry around Fiio UTWS5 earhooks with the two-pin connectors, so I can bring any of them on-the-go as a bluetooth set.

Bang-for-buck, I think non-TWS Chifi IEMs are straight-up the best deal in audio for the sub-$250 USD price-bracket (then other mediums like the Hifiman Edition XS for headphones, or iLoud Micro Monitors for 2-ch desktop would be an option.) Aful’s entry-level picks like the Explorer and Magicone are in my current rotation which just slide past the $100 mark, the former I like a lot for vk.

Here’s a community poll for iems on r/iems that’s fairly up-to-date: https://www.reddit.com/r/iems/comments/1hd2hd1/top_5_iems_in_every_price_range_chosen_by_you/

Individual HRTF and treble-tolerance is different from individual-to-individual and you play a bit of a QC lottery with some of the ultra-budget sets. A good return-policy is a plus.

If you have to do the pure-TWS route, the Moondrop Space Travel is a fan-favorite for $30. My only qualm with the true-wireless sets is that the batteries will inevitably die and become e-waste… but $30 is $30.

I have a modded iPod and years ago I bought several pairs of Sony MDR-Q55 headphones and I have been using those for the last 15+ years, and my computer speakers.

  • AirPods Pro 2 when I’m out and about
  • Wired headphones (Focal Clear MG) when I’m at the computer
  • Stereo system with bookshelf speakers when I’m in the living room (which has been even more enjoyable since I recently upgraded the amp to a Hegel H190V :heart_with_arrow:)

I wonder how manybpeople here listens to music through heir phone speakers. Never heard anyone listen to Japanese music that way but its common in my country to find people listeing to reggaeton outdoors on in Transit innrhat way. Or to EDM back in the early 2010s.

Idk about other places but in America it’s generally rude and disrespectful to listen to music through your phone speaker in public and seen as “hood” if you’re just walking around blasting music on your phone.

I have Logitech G560 that I use while at my computer, but I don’t listen to music on those usually. For music listening it’s either my Moondrop chu 2 with my iPod or my Sonos Arc setup with subs and surrounds for the living room.

Here too, but people are not very considerate and/or want to present themselves as rough and rough.

I’ve been loyal to Marshall on-ear headphones for years. I can’t really use in-ear ones anymore (sensitive ear canals, yay!)

I also use bookshelf speakers connected to my turntable—and sometimes to my phone as well. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

When I’m at home, my output source of choice is usually the sound system in our living room as it is connected to our desktop PC and TV.
Otherwise it’s usually wireless in ear.
