My Last.fm Scrobbles History 2025 (Japanese Edition)
Hello everyone this is my first time actually participating in this thread. I never did record my listens until i discovered an app called Pano Scrobbler. I used scrobbles from my Last.fm account to get these. If anyone is interested on how to set it up let me know.
This year was a rather weird year for me. I’m semi surprised about my Japanese bands but am not at the same time. I have been listening to non-japanese bands a lot more recently due to it relating to some real life events that happened last year. I below are screenshots of the band and how many scrobbles/plays they had for the year of 2025. Below ill be posting a top 10 band listens with a small description on what i remember mostly listening to within that bands discography in 2025 and some reasons why i felt i was listening to them. 10.) 12012
Ahh 12012, it makes sense a bit why they are here. Since their semi-revival i guess it had me grasping at straws hoping they make a full comeback. However it was met with disappointment. I mostly was listening to their self titled album a lot while switching to their later works in the early 2010’s era of their music. It was a very great band to re-visit these past 2 years and im happy they showed signs of some activity even tho it was very small.

9.) ZERA
Im surprised this is actually on the list to be honest. I thought i wouldn’t be listening to this band as much since all the hype of their 2023 album died down for me due to other interesting music coming out but i guess we are here now. I guess maybe when Kanta announced his retirement i started listening to Deviloof and ZERA. I dont full remember listening to them all too much but if i had to take a guess which releases i played: Devil liveD, Uncanny Valley, XIDE SCOPE, MARIONETTE PARADE and KIRAI. I believe XIDE SCOPE in particular i purchased this year and started jamming to it now that im really thinking about it lol. Fun band love Kanta’s drumming on zera’s music. Gunna miss that dude. ![]()
8.) DEZERT
Wow this band made a major comeback in my opinion. Im sure there might be some mixed opinions about their best collection re-recordings (Zetsutaiteki okaruto shuukanshi). However i think they were super well made and good. I know these came out in 2024 but i didnt really get to have a full opinion about them for myself until 2025 where i was into those albums. I found myself listening to them through the year from time to time and i grabbed my attention more when i would see it pop-up in my shuffle. I also got to listen to their new album yourself: ATTITUDE. I honestly liked this album it was an interesting enough blend of the old and new styles that sort grabbed my attention for most tracks. I also sometimes re-visited some older stuff from them too. Henshin is such a bop ![]()
7.) SADIE (サディ)
Ive been semi quiet about this band and how i feel about their revival albums. I plan to do some in-depth reviews soon about the revival albums. Stay tuned for those later on. It took a bit of a while to get listening to them as well.
As for what i listened to with Sadie, i mostly bounced around between their Revival of Darkness album and Revival of Sadness album. However their best collection Decade is also there. I kept both the re-recordings and the originals in my phone to give a good comparison test on how i feel about the Sadie revival tracks. To give a baseline about how i feel so far tho is that i feel like Mao has this sense of overproduction in his voice. It affected Sadie in some good ways but also some bad i feel. Ill go over this another time however overall i feel like the Sadie revival has peaked my interest and im excited still for more music despite my mixed feelings about Mao’s new vocals.
(This album came out in mid-December 2024 but i didn’t get to it until 2025

6.) DIAURA
Oh man this band made such a come back. Im absolutely in love with their new stuff. Some of the highlights that i listened too this year would be Ephemeral, Children, unknown teller, and MADDY CIRCUS. Of course i would dip back to some older music as well with the classics going threw their first Incomplete album and some of their other albums. They have brought back some of the early 2010’s style that i missed while also keeping things interesting. Amazing band ![]()
5.) MEJIBRAY
Very timeless band never gets old. I guess with the new band DRUGS made their debut i started to delve back into some older tzk vocal goodness lol. Also to remember why he was so good while performing for Mejibray in the first place. Unique vocals that hyena-ish like scream and amazing vibrato. DRUGS seems to not have any of that although is a interesting concept that i think should gain momentum at some point soon ![]()
Anyways definitely a band i still hold dear to my heart and a top band in 2025 because of a new band that tzk is in. I guess we stall see what the future holds for that band in 2026! ![]()

4.) BORN
Another timeless band. Idk ive been following RAZOR this year and everytime i feel that RAZOR dips into a weird direction i just go back to this band because it was and always will be the best of Ryouga in my opinion. This year was one of those years for RAZOR that was a bit strange. Both SILLAGE and In CREATURE were strange releases. Yes i know im talking about a different band but it sorta relates to when i listen to BORN and this year it was one of those years where i was playing them more then RAZOR for some reason VIGOUR more idk why
. Other notable listens by them were: Independence BLACK, Psycho Diva, and BLASTED ANIMALS
3.) the Gazette
Im STARVING for this band to release music. When i seen they announced they are getting a new album soon i started spinning some tracks. I was also still mourning Reita’s death as well. I dearly miss him. While listening to them this year i found my self fixated on the bass lines in all the tracks i came across down to every note and change up on repeat. It just really made me appreciate the bass in this band more for what it was. How he was able to just hone his craft more and it helped shape the music we got today. it was simply beautiful.
I hope the best for the bands future in 2026. I know there are some things they need to work out potentially for themselves but of course no rush. Notable releases i listened to were: HETERODOXY, NINTH, DOGMA and UGLY (192 hz). Very interesting listen on the UGLY single after finding it in that quality.
Below are some songs i found interesting. I found REGRET as a song really makes Reita’s bass shine even tho its a simple song. Also the bass lines in Ruder i didn’t notice before but they are pretty crazy wild notes that are cool ![]()
2.) D’ESPAIRSRAY
The moment this band announced potential comeback i immediately grabbed my headphones. Its an ABSOLUTE NEED for this band to come back. This band is (in my opinon) a Loud kei pioneer and a band who really helped influence other vkei bands in the scene. This deserved every moment of a re-kindling in 2025 for me. I really hope they make more music in 2026 it would be amazing. Releases i listened to this year were: Gärnet (2003), antique, Coll:set, and MONSTERS.
1.) Awoi (アヲイ)
This band will probably never not be #1. Forever in my heart their song will never die. Every year Ryo does a memorial live of the band and every year i always pray for their return. Otogi returning to stage for the first time in YEARS was a HUGE reason for them being number one here, on top of being my favorite. Notable releases include: AWOI BEST, FUTEKIGOU na Ringo, Owari no MELODY, Zetsubou no Taiyou, and ZACRO. Specifically releases: FUTEKIGOU na Ringo and Owari no MELODY more so this year. I managed to really like these releases more then i did before. I remember saying i had mixed feeling about some of these tracks but i honestly now i suddenly understand how much the composition works. Something about this band that i have had such a long journey with and i feel like that will never end because they are always my go to and comfort band. I hope for a return of Awoi in 2026 after Otogi performs at Teradacho Fireloop on 2026.01.04. I constantly pray each and every day for their return. Maybe one day they will ![]()
