sukekiyo - EROSIO

The lyrics for Devote My Life pretty much lay it all out there as bare as possible.

Maybe its only me or all songs except the singles sounds like fillers?

I’m really not a fan of what they’re releasing for several years in a row at this point, both recent albums are just not what I’d even consider music for the most part, and I have no idea what even caused such a drastic change, vitium was legit on some peak luna sea levels.

We’ve had the album for a good few months now, so I think it’s safe to say that Ol’ Marge is in fact the hottest of the Sukekiyo sisters, despite not being as charismatic and flashy.

We’ve had the album for even longer now, and I think this is the best Sukekiyo album yet. The Hole and Rongai are pretty consistent skips for me, but they’re okay, and then the rest? Bangers on bangers.

Beyond liking the songs, I appreciate how much this feels like the culmination of all their work thus far. They really figured out implementing the synth here without just sounding like a Kyobot, like on Infinitum.

So, is this the best Sukekiyo album?

Edit: haven’t even mentioned my highlights. The run of the first three tracks is peak Sukekiyo, with Margaret probably being my favorite song on the album. Kuchi ni Ringo comes really close though, that vocal loop at the end kills me. Then MOAN, Gurossu, with Kawattekuremasen deshō ka? being in the same league as my favorites on here…so many good songs.

Adoratio is still my favorite, but Erosio is a close second.

My favorite is still Immortalis even though I think I listened to the one after and then just to Erosio.

From the latter there are Rongai, Kawatte and Kokyuu mostly that I love, Gloss and Frame out kara no are the ones I listen to every now and then but I don’t care much about the rest. Maybe at some point I’ll get into one of the other songs but it’s alright if not.

My favorite is Immortalis too, Elisabeth addict and Kugui, two of my favorite song of Sukekiyo. Erosio follows behind. I love particulary Margaret, Kokyuu and Moan (very heady).

I would have to agree that Erosio is the best to date in a number of categories. Infiinitium is tired in the top spot with me as far as my tastes go, but I think creatively I have to give it to Erosio.
The only ones I skip are 変わってくれませんでしょうか? And the new Rongai. Maybe I just spent too many years listening to the “demo” version of Rongai, but every time I hear the new one I just really miss all the elements they took away, and I don’t think any of the changes they made add anything to the song.

But I truly feel this is an album made by a team, a band where every member gets a chance to shine on basically every song. Everyone is in top form here. (Do I wish the bass lines were louder? Of course, but I feel that way about every band.)

I look forward to what’s next.

This is my favorite song from last year. It’s amazing how good it is

I really like Kuuchi no Ringo, but I think it takes a while to pick up the pace. The first half is nothing special, but when the beat drops at 2:27 and the guitar goes insane it’s otherworldly
