At 1st I was mad I only found out about this gig now, but then I read the website and it says they’ll only play songs from Takeru’s solo career, so I couldn’t care less, LOL.

There was an interview but honestly I read that to find out what this collab was all about and left with more questions and few answers. The short answer:
TAKERU: While listening to HIROTO-san’s vision for his solo career, I started asking him if he would like to do a show with me overseas.
ok so they wanted to travel together
TAKERU: I am sure that they are expecting us to do a session of representative songs from each other’s careers, so I intend to do that.
but had no time to rehearse so the setlist wound up like that?

You assumed I’d be into it for SuG when I’d actually care more about A9, LOL. Still, many of SuG’s hits missing from the Mexico gig. Setlist could’ve been way better.

While I’m sure they’ll play some A9 songs, as he said, it’s still TAKERU featuring Hiroto, as part as Takeru’s World Tour, so it’s not surprising that his carreer IS the focus.
I think Hiroto wasn’t on the previous stops of the tour, hence the 100% Takeru setlist for those dates

Oh, got it. Somehow I thought Hiroto had been in Mexico too and they had played the same setlist of Takeru/SuG songs together, my bad.
Review: At first it was just Takeru and his support guitarist and I was so confused but IMO the concert got real good when Hiroto joined lmao I felt kinda bad for not caring about Takeru’s career bc he was so sweet but like 5 ppl sang along his solo stuff when prompted.
Laruku cover!? Yikes. I’m glad I didn’t go, LOL.
Also kudos to Hiroto for making some buck and getting a trip to other side of the planet just to play 4 songs. When they sent HIZAKI to play with Kouki from D=OUT in some other anime convention they made him learn a shitload of songs from a band that he never played at and is not even his style. Poor girl.

Noo, those are the people who paid for the meet & greet I believe. Some people paid for that, some people paid for front row, some paid for both and most like me didn’t pay for either.
The bad thing about having both play together is that casual fans of one or the other may have felt awkward about buying a M&G to greet only one of them tbh lmao. It was kinda expensive too and on a Friday at 4pm to boost so most ppl who work couldn’t attend even if they do live near by which makes no sense because it’s freaking SuG and A9 I doubt anyone <18 loves them lol. Ask the organizers
Since VK musicians very rarely say how old they are, I think it was nice for Takeru to say on stage he’s 37. I know there’s a thread here for that, but I couldn’t find it, so there’s that for those keeping track of it. Also, his english is pretty good for a jap.
