nox and the pale >>>> 90 % of VK that came out since ninth (and >>>>>> ninth); barbarian is kinda cool; last song sounds like a filth in the beauty cover with trendy sound arrangement.
compared to pre-dogma albums this is pure genius-tier, but they rely on the same formulaic writing so much, and with single-less albums we don’t get even remotely experimental/throwback b-sides once in a year anymore.
rolling sounds like it shouldn’t have made a cut, and moment would’ve been a better fit as bonus track on TRACES II a few years ago tbh
Well, they literally did the same with Ninth, revealing Falling on March 10 (and no b-sides),
Although, maybe this time they’ll have post-album single/s?
They weren’t selling/streaming it on Apple Music/Spotify?
EDIT.
Checked their ohp.
【New song “BLINDING HOPE” music video released and subscribed! And the new album “MASS” will be released on May 26th !】
“Today on March 10, the 19th anniversary of the band’s formation, the music video for their first new song in three years, “BLINDING HOPE” has been released!”
So, Blinding Hope isn’t a single either. Probably that’s why I thought it’s the same situation all over again.
Not really but it gets sold and when you go to their OHP there’s also that little info thing that states “new streaming / DL & music video”.
Also it’s put up for buying on iTunes, Amazon etc. and that didn’t happen for Falling. My buy from iTunes also gets saved by “Blinding Hope - Single” as the folder title on my PC.
So, the thing is. I thought that they’re doing the same thing with Blinding Hope as with Falling (=uploading a PV of it on youtube).
However, apparently, Blinding Hope is available on several digital services. e.g. it is included on Spotify as a single. And I don’t remember Falling getting that treatment (=being available for download as a standalone single).
I have a feeling they will release another album (+ some anniversary cash-grab stuff like a PV coll) next year, which might explain relatively high filler count and cheap PV on mess whereas they clearly invested into studio equipment and production quality compared to ninth and traces.
