Hell yeah. Division isn’t one of my favorite albums by a long stretch, but I keep coming back to DRIPPING INSANITY.
Required Malfunction, Dripping Insanity and Hedoro feel a little out of place on the album, almost like a mid-point toward what we’d get on DOGMA and Ninth, but Dripping Insanity specifically sounds almost like a demo for Dogma.
Hell, even Ruthless Deed from Toxic just sounds like a less completed attempt at their later style
They are highly out of their craft when they try and mix in genres like dubstep imo. I’m guessing the actual implementation was done by Teddy Loid who actually knows how to do it, but the concept was a failure to me. I find that the two elements clash and just create a vacuum of noise. Rather than synthesizing, they compete. Which ends up just giving me a Headache Man
I like it too and shld be a must-have track in their large scale performances. Some of their songs are more suitable to be played in live than listening digitally
@zeus No idea but it’s criminal that they kept it exclusive to the first press limited edition.

Side note, the first press limited edition version of Hankou Seimeibun had a hidden track that was a thank you message for buying the album. To my knowledge it was only on this specific edition and not included in the regular edition or reissue (same with Sumire).
A whole bonus track and a thank you message are two completely different things, but maybe the band was just playing around with exclusive bonuses around this time.
Or, perhaps it was a mandate from the label to boost sales on the limited edition.
I own a copy of the first press Madara edition, but never spotted any clue in its booklet on why keeping Sumire exclusive was the case.
As for the Hankou Seimei Bun, I’ve listened to the EP back when I was new to vkei, but hadn’t had a version with the message. If the one at the end with cryptic unsettling voice is what we’re talking about, I’d say it was more an announcement over a thank you message:
“We declare here and now: Shibuya-Ax, Tokyo. 16th of January, 2004. I repeat: Shibuya-Ax, Tokyo. 16th of January, 2004. This is our complete judgement. Here’s our statement of crime - it’s all written right there.”
That’s all I’ve managed to copy from my ears, but that’s the day and place when they performed their “Judgement Day” live. Clever and creative way to bring the news subtly, especially in the days when social media were at thier infancy.
At least with this one it makes sense why they decided to not put it in the 2nd press.
Ah that’s what was being said! Thanks for sharing. Wait, oh snap. January 16 is my birthday
As far as madara goes, yeah, no clues or info on why. I mean, bonus tracks are pretty common I suppose in the scene. Now that I think about it, Division has those extra instrumentals only on the limited edition.
