Visual kei's "Bohemian rhapsodys"

I listened to MERRY’s Gekisei today and realized how many of these exist. What I mean are songs that are REALLY long. Ranging from 10 minutes (Vinushka) to solid 40 minutes (Elementa alchemica).
It’s usually not just one song stretched out really far, but there are clear sections where the whole atmosphere changes and it sounds like a completely different song.
What do you think about these songs? Do you feel like they should have just chopped them into several parts or do you enjoy these rollercoaster rides?
Spontaneously, I could think of these four examples. Can anyone think of any others?

DIR EN GREY - Vinushka

X JAPAN - Art of life

MERRY - Gekisei

A (ACE) - Elementa Alchemica

Another vote for Art of Life because tbh X Japan is the Queen of vkei - most likely to be known by normies and pretty universally enjoyable.

I think bands will always eventually TRY to do one of these songs, which I affectionately call “fuckin journeys”, to show off their artistry and composing chops, but it’s hard to do well.

no one mentioned the remake of MACABRE? also genuinely believe this is one of the best live performances, like ever, in music

I love them because i’m a prog slut

I must agree there. As a vocalist myself, even performing with half the effort and emotion as this performance is something I literally dream of.
