i can picture some coked up record exec, awake for 50 straight hours & tasked with shepherding the beach boys back to relevancy in the late 80s, coming up with this while on the brink of madness - in some board room, pulling his hair, screaming “FUCK IT, I DUNNO, JUST FIND ANOTHER SET OF ‘BOYS’ AND SMASH THEM TOGETHER”. i love music history
