What feeling (or feelings) should a band evoke for you?

What feelings should a band evoke for you to like it? I’ll write about mine later. I have something to say.

For me bands don’t have to evoke any specific feelings. If the music sounds good for any reason at all, I’ll probably like them. I started to like Base Ball Bear because I enjoyed the harmony between the singers and how groovy it sounded. I like the GazettE because they can hit me from all sides with their music. Going from fast tempo songs to make me energetic to the softer ballads. Maybe there are some feelings that I’m not aware of when I hear bands the first time, but I usually just think that the music or vocals sound great so I add them

Specific.

That all depends on the day and the mood for me

For me, a band should evoke feelings and emotions such as sadness, joy, and anger.
I should die and be reborn. I should experience a strong spiritual response that comes from within. When you hear the first few seconds, you already understand everything. When the feelings feel like a dagger piercing your heart, I should be in agony. I should be in love, passionate, and captivated. Everything that penetrates and becomes like a bandage for a wound.

I want the feeling of dieing together, and sadness. But also hope and the emphasis on ‘together’. I also like when songs make me feel like a slut. And sometimes it doesn’t need to evoke certain feelings, just needs to sound good

Idk if this is an actual feeling but…
It’s “that urge to sing it randomly a couple of times”

Resonance I guess? If I can idetify the feeling the music conveys by itself and I like how its conveys melodically and the aesthetic or style I probably like It.

nostalgia/melancholia : A9 are so good at it :sob::sparkling_heart: RES, Kagrra, D’esp.. etc

coolness : ( think, charisma wise ) you see them and you say " they really fits well together they’re sooo cool together ! ", few bands made me think like that, like ViViD and A9 recently,RAZOR, Gazetto too.. just a bunch of naturally cool people finding their ways together and doing cool stuff :l

need to dance and headbang and do furitsuke obviouslyyyy !!! ( if you don’t have at least one song that itch a certain part of my neurodivergent brain i don’t want you in my playlist :face_with_hand_over_mouth: )

agressivity ( ?? ), very few times have i been intimidated by VK performances ( in the sense that I was like, ooh that’s kinda scary, like the overall vibe, including the fans and the place ) because after all they’re just a bunch of cuties/cool uncles doing what they like in life, but sometimes some performances genuinely makes me go  decadence is cool

admiration, because of how purely talented they are : like, just, pure talent ! Versailles, Matenrou Opera, X Japan, merry .. like, those men can do all that with just their brain and hands ooooh :face_holding_back_tears:

I always enjoy groups to have a certain grade of “vulgarity”

things like have songs which talk more directly about things like sexual intercourse, more fanservice oriented visuals (for at least one band member). No fear of getting more direct and loud in the song writing and in the vocals and possible ideas for shock factor past just violence. Something like that doll Kyo used as mic in Valentina which face got replaced by a vaginna for example is my favourite example of that,

when u see fuggard photos of elmo or his methy ex on the internet spaces, and tarantula bass and beats start pinging your brain cells, that kind of feeling

the more common word for that, i think, is ‘deja vu’
