i thought recently about how DazzlingBad might be joining 己龍 in the scene but then i remembered oh 
so, who’s left, who still actively does this fancy japanese style?
seems like ゼラ has a reputation of being pretty mid; if anything i think they try on the costume of a different sound per release.
but 涙音 took me quite by surprise - not only is it a sudden wafuu sound but imho they did really well at it.
i guess i mean to say - it’d be cool to hear of committed bands dedicated entirely to a traditional sound; it’d also be cool if y’all know any releases from bands that don’t live exclusively in this style but do well when they step into it.

縁 (Enishi)! They are listed as semi active but they had a release 29.05.2024 and they had at least one live in april or May.

I recommend using the status filter to only show active or semi-active bands. And not every band that comes up does Wafuu kei music wise anymore. Like Zigzag?
I think Raymei also changed to a more standard vk sound

There’s maybe a few thousand bands on vk.gy i’m wanting to get to know better, but when someone says “oh check out these guys” that puts them on the top of my list right away

I just listened to their album - finally had a hr long drive
and you’ve given me maybe the best band rec anyone has in actual years… i can’t believe, this is how Sui sounds?? if so i’ve got to go straight to looking up his entire discography…
Tomoshibi started and i was blindsided by the strongest hit of nostalgia, by a song i’d never even heard before
It just felt like an older style of singing/melodies - and that’s when i looked them up on vk.gy and saw they weren’t a band of new startups but something of a supergroup(?)
And then Ouka - i swear i heard Isshi’s voice, Isshi’s songwriting, back here in a new song from 2023
I’m not ashamed to say that hit me again in some unexpected emotions!
The rest of the album doesn’t sound much like Kagrra, - nothing else sounds like Kagrra, - but for that one track they so locked in
So, overall much appreciated. Now i need to bother everyone i know until their 11 monthly listeners on Spotify gets way higher…
