I was persuaded… BY MYSELF!!!
Lol I thought that when I saw that tweet too!!
I have a few friends that are from Japan and admire him a lot! But then again they’re like SUPER diehard X fans so maybe that doesn’t count
It’s not…. bad?
Was that a playback/lipsync?
Having watched it a few times from the HD feed of the programme, I suspect it was. Honestly, with Yoshiki being the perfectionist / narcissist that he is and being NOT a professional singer, there’s no way on earth he would have risked a live take. That said, while not great, it was not the embarassment I perhaps feared.

People may have various opinions about my performance. I accept everything with sincerity.
Tonight, I will perform a song that…
was he reading the post?
I might be misremembering, but I thought there was a performance of “Pink Spider”(?) at one of the hide Memorial Summits (might’ve been the first televised one in 2008) where he got roped into singing a little bit and was…pretty rough to say the least.
I think that same performance might’ve been the one he was playing hide’s hearts-design guitar on
It’s like I imagined, he should stay a pianist and not sing. It’s not for him
His voice… It’s him, he is the angel!
Toshi confirmed to be on the single, sad that this needed to be even said lol

bro what the hell, all that hype for a one-off lipsync? gurl…
Toshi saw that video and got so angry what Y is doing to X that he decided to do this lol
Well, I’d sure as hell hope that a guy who is classically trained on the piano can carry a tune.
Skill and training on an instrument doesn’t always translate well to singing ability. I could easily see easily skipping over becoming a trained vocalist if one also spent time becoming as good at piano and drums as Yoshiki is
Still, depressing lmao
Is this still considered a metal band?
They haven’t been a proper metal band for the longest time. Their music is still metal if you get to see them perform but Yoshiki will inject a lot of these “world music” vibe into their newer songs for maximum appeal.
