YOSHIKI

He looks almost dead indeed. I’m actually surprised he posted this unflattering vid, complete with self-deprecating caption, considering the 24/7 image control he’s usually got going on. Perhaps it’s the drugs?

You don’t get the point. The purpose to post this kind of video is to make people have empathy for him. ’ Look how difficult I am now '. I have nothing against him, but his privacy should stay private. To me, it looks like a theater show, like many people do on social media. They create a theater of their own life.

Wow he really looks… I don’t even know how to put it. Shouldn’t he be hospitalized a bit more? The initial impression after watching that clip is that he will never really fully recover again… But what do I know, but that looks rough man. Wish him all the best, must hurt alot even if he is on some powerful meds. We have all meme:d Yoshiki but he shouldn’t suffer.

I very much get the point: Yoshiki is in the business of selling his pain, and it’s always been the case. What I’m saying is that usually even those posts have, shall we say, better production values. I cannot think of another celebrity that has a more carefully controlled (social) media image.

The music documentary film YOSHIKI: UNDER THE SKY features the world-renowned rock star and composer leading a global concert featuring today’s top musical artists.

Directed by YOSHIKI – leader of rock bands X Japan and The Last Rockstars – the project was conceived during the recent period when artists could not connect with their fans. YOSHIKI has gathered an unprecedented collection of artists for a deeply emotional journey, including a heartbreaking interaction with the husband of a terminally ill fan and a celebration of voices joined from across international borders.

With powerful live performances by The Chainsmokers (USA), St. Vincent (USA), Sarah Brightman (England), Scorpions (Germany), HYDE (Japan), SUGIZO (Japan), SixTONES (Japan), Jane Zhang (China), Lindsey Stirling (USA), Nicole Scherzinger (USA), and more, YOSHIKI: UNDER THE SKY demonstrates the power of music and YOSHIKI’s message to the world that we can overcome any difficulties together."

Can’t wait for his Pussycat dolls cover.

The Wind of change clip looks like they weren’t even in the same room lol

Thanks for the info… I am still … wondering… who the hell is this for? The artists are so diffrent. And I don’t really would buy this just for Yoshiki, even tho I consider myself a fan of him.

This feels like Yoshiki’s chaotic mix of projects materialised as a DVD

Considering how he looked in that video, how long would you guys say it takes for him to recover?
I personally didn’t think you could (or normally would) leave the hospital in such a rough condition.

I think it’s primarily for himself, and whoever’s bought into his worldview, where a brush with all these international celebrities of past and present fame validates him as one of the greats; he’s a direct descendant in rock and pop culture genealogy down the line from Elvis Presley to Elton John, and in his mind, one’s worth is measured by the acknowledgement of one’s peers in the Hollywood hills or a private island…

This thing looks spectacularly awful and I can’t wait to watch it if I can find it. It checks every box in my Yoshiki bingo row; average conservatory student level piano-riffing? Check. Couldn’t get your once-famous-now-practically-irrelevant guest starts to bother to show up in the same studio? Check. 1980s big think monologues about how music’s going to unite the world? Double check. It’s the magnum opus of his late career.

Ah no… that’s not so uncommon. We even have a word in germany for this “blutige Entlassung” (bleeding hospital discharge).

Fun fact: this “documentary” was supposed to air in 2020, but got delayed for years because they had to edit out / sever any association with Marylin Manson after his rape scandal surfaced. Here’s the original trailer…

Anyway, Disposan above is totally spot on as the motivation…it’s 10000% an ego trip (plus an excuse to claim “movie director” credits).
Someone joked that he should have just named this “I am Yoshiki” and be done with it, and I agree.

Probably just moved from one facility to another.
Rest assured the guy has the best surgeons, the best drugs, and the best rehab. He’ll be fine.

I’ve been wondering about his use of painkillers lately. I think he likes to see himself in kind of a Michael Jackson esque way. The suffering artist, who just wants to heal the world and just wants to give his gift to the fans one last time (as you described). It’s obviously entertaining, but also increasingly worrying.

Wait what did I miss? Its “famous” that he uses alot of opiates/opioids/ is an addict?

I don’t think anyone said that. But he did tweet a while back about how he’s now “unable to sleep naturally”. That would imply he’s in 24/7 neurological pain and needs to reach for meds, perhaps of the type you mention.

No, no! I was just wondering this personally, partly for the reasons that @Dotas96_NL mentioned.
With his history of injuries and surgeries, he has been on strong painkillers a lot in his life. He has also mentioned not being able to sleep naturally, and he has posted pictures before that were supposed to give the impression that he had to drink himself to sleep in a hotel room.
Another reason why I have been thinking about this, is that his whole persona is ‘pain’, which can lead people to indulge in behaviours that fit this persona of ‘the suffering’.
But in the end, I don’t know and I don’t want to accuse him of anything. For all we know he’s totally chill behind the scenes and just acts it up for social media from time to time.

Gotcha! I understand.
About the sleep they use another medicine for that, that is benzo-kei.
Anyway hope he is not suffering too much and can do a big comeback later! He is Yoshiki after all!
