Your thoughts on the perception that VK singers aren't very good?

Plastic Tree have a lot of talent for sure but like you, i can’t fully enjoy their music because i get tired with Ryutaro very quickly. I find his voice monotonous.

I advise you to listen carefully the discography of Sukekiyo for the apprehend the versality of Kyo’s singing. You might be surprised i think.

No matter what sounds you can produce, if you can’t sing without a lot off-key notes, without straining, if you lack a good foundation.
I also dislike too in-depth sound, which many Japanese vocalists use. But that’s a matter of personal taste.

I listened to it a lot, I pretty like some his vocal performances, but in general he isn’t one of my favorite vocalists )

Ngl i’m enjoying this thread just bc everyone’s criteria for ‘good vocals’ is so different, there’s almost no overlap

Imho i enjoy a lot of different styles but the one thing more than anything that makes me think a singer is exceptionally skilled in a way that matters is control over dynamics

Exactly. Think we’re just going to have to agree to disagree rather than be told “youre wrong because you dont like the same style of vocals as me” as seems we all value different traits of vocals differently.
