I think it’s about time I officially started this topic here.
A few of you may know that I’m into playing guitar and making music. But that’s not what this topic is about. Recording music is half the battle and mixing, mastering, and production is the other half. I’ve decided to start posting my experiments with visual kei here.
Whenever I get the inspiration to tackle an album, I’ll post it on my YouTube channel and then here. I’ve already done three entire albums and gotten some positive responses. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Kisou was the first one. I attempted to restore some bass…to middling results. But when it’s good, it’s good.
Decided to tackle Sadie next. This one was rather straightforward for me too - add bass! But do so in a way that doesn’t disrupt Ryo’s balance.
This one was a pain in the ass. Euro’s mixing is almost the opposite of Ryo’s in some sense. Pretty difficult to thicken up the guitars. My goal was to open up the sound stage and make you more immersed in the music.
If you’re wondering how I do this, hacks. It’s hacks all the way down.
