Premiere in 24 hours:
amazing look, Kyonosuke is so ethereal. Banging sound, that bass and piano part
oh fuck it is 6 minutes long.
Alright, let’s go.
Oni
Nice, wholesome piano intro with Lime’s very strong vocals. I honestly like this voice, somehow it feels much more different from what I’m used to. Hey, some nice electronic background drums, like it.
And then we get funky for the chorus! I would have said “ey, reminds me of Anagura”, but I haven’t checked their whole discography, so maybe it’s their go-to chorus type.
Haha, that bass & piano partx2.
Solo is nice, but somehow I’m more interested in a rhythm guitar during that part.
THAT OUTRO, YEAH, IT HITS ALL THE RIGHT NOTES. Favourite part 100%
So yeah, good stuff.
My only complaints I have with this song are the same I have with Sukekiyo’s Kuchi ni Ringo: I wish the beat droped sooner and dropped harder. Otherwise, their best release in a good while
The video is good but the song is almost as bad as kuroiame.
Even the whispering was better than this.
Wow what a song. So different yet also familiar. They seem to some how keep this powerful energy no matter what they put out or how they change up things. I guess it’s limes voice or something about the way the songs are made. The way he does vocals is really cool.
Side note: idk if anyone felt as tho the guitars were tuned down a tad bad. They also had a missed opportunity. That butterfly skeleton was so fking cool. Would have been an awesome album art.
I don’t know, I’m not particularly feeling this… I wish they started going heavier again with stuff like STEROID. I really enjoyed STRAWBERRY BLUE and LITTLE GIRL WA YANDEIRU but the route they’re taking is weird. Let’s see what future holds for them
It sounded like the acoustic version of one of there previous songs for the first half
Sup! Mr party pooper here again.
The song is interesting at first, the buildup is interesting, the bridge is interesting and good. I was so on like “LETS GO!”… then the chorus came and its the same generic thing we have heard a million times. Just ugh…
I wonder how many jrock/vk singles I have heard recently with weak disappointing choruses.
I mean what they were even thinking…? They compose this rather interesting song and then decide to go for the most weak ass generic chorus out there.
Not a bad song but nothing mindblowing. Last single was way better.
This band had few cool catchy songs at the start, then everything started to sound boring as hell… Very forgettable melodies
Completely agree with you, Kizu goes around in circles since Strawberry.Blue.
Each of their songs is unique, so different, the melodies are completely unlike typical visual kei melodies. The vocals are amazing. It’s extremely strange to hear that they are boring or monotonous. Then what to say about other 99% vk bands?
The melodic structure of the songs and Lime’s singing are however quite repetitive lately. That’s just my opinion. For the 99% other bands or current vk, my post may be deleted if i use the term that comes to my mind.
I don’t mean just the current stage. In 7 years Kizu has much more variety in melodies and harmonies than bands that have been around for 20+ years. And as a vocalist Lime is on a different level.
But I think if you’re less emotionally involved in a band’s works, you hear less differences. Many bands seem monotonous to me, but their fans think otherwise.
He has a unique voice, it’s certain. He is particulary good in the treble but his metal technical palette seems quite limited at the opposite of Kyo for exemple. Sometimes i find the singing of Lime relatively monocord.
Metal vocals aren’t just about an extreme. Lime is an excellent metal singer, but he doesn’t claim to be an extreme vocalist) He has a very flexible and dynamically diverse voice, which is better than sudden growls for me f.e. Being in tune also is very important.
I do like Kizu and do much prefer their earlier output but one thing that stops me sometimes picking up a release of theirs is Limes vocals, ok, sure he is a good singer but in my personal opinion i find his voice a bit whingey and grating so have to really be in the right mood for them based on that alone. Like others have said i wouldnt call him a great vocalist or on another level because as others have mentioned his voice isnt that versatile… He has the whisper, the talk “singing” and his high pitch grating proper singing and thats basically it. Guess it works for Kizu but he is definitely not that high up (imo) when it comes to being a top vocalist in vk alone let alone considering other genres.
Hazuki of Lynch for example is a flawless singer too but have the full vocal range of a metal singer. One does not prevent the other. On the other hand, Lime is young and will probably improve his vocal range.
Totally agree with you, he is not very versatile. That’s a fact.
